Nah, that's the big red bird, not the small one. It can tip over stones, and if you do it just right the pigs will squish. Although I do agree the black bomb bird would be more effective.

that's the regular red bird, and yes, it's just going to bounce. The Big Red Bird has a smaller beak.

Unless of course you're actually supposed to use it to capture the Golden Egg which is off-screen to the right in a hidden box.
