First published in 1830, “Le Livre Sans Titre” (A Book Without a Title), warned young squires and dandy boys of the harmful effects of masturbation with TOTALLY accurate information.

a book without a title? More like a book without content.

Interested to see subsequent parts. :)

So women are safe from these effects then? ;)

Women were proscribed devices by Doctors which would "stimulate the nerves" and might "induce feelings of euphoria" by "increasing blood flow".

Not at this time of course.

But you would wonder at France being this staid in 1830.
Not only had the State trounced the Church, but the infamous Marquis de Sade (from whose name we get Sadism, in case you didn't know) and his filthy, filthy ideals was in his grave 16 years by this point.

I'll bet only a very small percentage of young Frenchmen even saw this pamphlet, let alone heeded it. Gunmaster? Anything to add?

Not knocking the IOTD - great find!

Pointless.

Anyone who needs to read it is already blind.

When that book was printed, women were supposed to never know the pleasures of sex unless they were wanton whores.
