Keeping up with interesting protests:

In Srinagar, India, Kashmiri activist Mohammad Ahsan Untoo tries to set himself ablaze as Indian police officers rush to smother the fire. Untoo, who was protesting alleged human rights violations by Indian forces in Kashmir, was not seriously injured.

Now the question is whether this guy is Indian or Paki, and whether he's Muslim or Hindu. Doesn't say but if Paki attitudes are more towards self-immolation and not other-immolation (?), well that's a trend that the world should embrace.

Especially if they don't even manage to off themselves.

I would think he's a Kashmiri. Pakistan is on the opposite side of the subcontinent. Not sure where the idea that self-immolation is limited to one country comes from - look at South Korean student protesters... And he could be Muslim, Hindu, or Sikh.

Anybody got marshmallows?

That his name is "Mohammad Ahsan Untoo" is a strong clue. So is the fact that he was "protesting Indian human rights violations".

I like the look of the fella in the blue coat on the right... He looks like he's about to try and put out the flames with his little stick or something.

Seriously, though, is it the yelling guy standing up who's trying to protest? I ask, because in the picture, it looks more like his jacket is on fire than his body. I assume that's why he wasn't seriously injured, eh?
