I'd guess that that is not a result of modified DNA, but embryonic mutation caused by something (likely pollution) interfering with the DNA expression. Might be DNA mutation, though. See if it breeds and what its younguns look like.

Two possibilities:
1. This is an escapee from a secret Red Lobster research lab where they are working to develop the multi-clawed crab for next crab fest.
2. The crabs have their own secret research facility where they are working diligently to develop opposable thumbs in order to further their plan for world domination.
I await our crustacean overloads with a big tub of butter and a fancy hammer and crab-crackin' knife I got in Baltimore the first time I was there.
