Easter Pictures

Big Sarge • Apr 23, 2011 3:27 pm
Here's a thread to post your photos from the Easter weekend. I'll start out. I had Addie over and we dyed Easter eggs. Of course she has her wild hair look again. I can't ever get it fixed into a ponytail that stays for more than a minute.
Trilby • Apr 23, 2011 3:55 pm
Awwww! She's adorable!

good work, Sarge! Love the bunny shirt
Gravdigr • Apr 23, 2011 4:59 pm
That's one cute little girl there, Sarge.
Tulip • Apr 23, 2011 10:11 pm
Your daughter is adorable. And her hair is perfect. ;)
Sundae • Apr 24, 2011 6:16 am
She just has very fine hair, Sarge. Mum used to yank mine into plaits and bunches so tight my head screamed. It got cut short way earlier than I wanted because of this... Let her enjoy her hair freedom while she can :)

And yes, she is adorable.

I'll take some Easter pics later.
We are going to the local pub for lunch. It's the place we've been to lots of times before, but this will be our first family meal there since it changed to a Hungry Horse franchise. It's pretty basic stuff, but it's close to home and reasonably priced.

Menu.I'm thinking of having the Hot or Not Chicken Skewer Sizzler
Double heaven on a stick. Two giant chicken skewers smothered in your favourite sauce. Choose from BBQ, Piri Piri or sweet chilli. Served with chips [fries], peppers, onions, grilled tomato and onion rings.

Also I still have my bunny ears. I won't wear them to the pub, but I might take a photo with them on later. Note - I will be wearing more than the ears.

Fries and onion rings?

Heaven indeed!

eta: I object to the way they are making fun of new yorkers - calling their dish Chicken Noo Yoik! Some people live in new york and don't think it's very nice to make fun of the way some people talk.

NOW I"M MAD!!!!

Turns out my lunch wasn't really heaven on a stick.
Because it's served on a skillet, the food was too hot to eat until my parents had mostly finished their meal, and by then the chicken was quite dry. So no pics of that. There was a lot of it though, reminiscent of American portions sizes!

Mum had Surf n Turf n Cluck, the greedy pig. But she left 75% of her steak because she enjoyed the rest of it more. I wrapped it in a napkin and Diz had it cut up for tea tonight.

Dad had the Mini Grill and was the only one of us who finished.

I did not have peas with my meal. Just to clarify.

Bri, I think you're right re making fun of New Yorkers.
I mean they wouldn't have Jerk Chicken on the menu and write "Here am de Jerk Chicken, mon!" It's clearly racist and I will be addressing it via a letter to the Management. Although I might get Pam to write it for me.

Grav, just looking at that dessert gives my eyes diabetes.

Afterwards we sat outside - as you can see it's a main road so it's not great for al fresco dining, but will do for a final drink. They have Mojitos on draught - fill the glass with ice and then use a cup to ensure correct measure. So here is Dad & I on Easter Sunday both having a Mojito.

The other pic is me again - same bat time, same bat place as many of the photos I take for here - sitting at the computer. But it doesn't belong in the RFN thread. I forgot about the bunny ears, sorry. I'll wear them next year.
Trilby • Apr 24, 2011 4:31 pm
your dad looks like the nicest guy ever.

that second pic really needs bunny ears. would be very cute. Maybe even cuter than MoreThanPretty? who knows?
Sundae • Apr 24, 2011 4:39 pm
Here's one I made earlier.
It was me acting out, "I'm not a happy bunny."
Trilby • Apr 24, 2011 4:43 pm
Woeful Bunny?
Big Sarge • Apr 24, 2011 5:16 pm
More Easter photos from the egg hunt at our community center. These are my kids and that is my wife with my youngest son eating the hot dog. It was a pretty day in New Jersey
Big Sarge • Apr 24, 2011 5:17 pm
Here's a pic of Robert trying to find the chocolate eggs before the kids. He carries a gun in case he has to fight his way out
Big Sarge • Apr 24, 2011 6:15 pm
The Easter bunny didn't bring any chicks or ducklings this year. Instead our nanny gave us a big surprise. I thought about trying to put bunny ears on it, but she wouldn't let me near her baby. Of course I'm already planning the BBQ
ZenGum • Apr 24, 2011 10:32 pm
Okay, Sarge, now I am as confused as all heck. I thought you were a cop in Mississippi. Now you're a pharma rep in New Jersey. I can deal with the family business by dropping a few "step-"s in there.

Could you clarify things for me?
plthijinx • Apr 25, 2011 2:21 am
maybe he's got a little pensivepamitis?
:D
:bolt:
Big Sarge • Apr 25, 2011 2:22 am
a new member on here is convinced i'm a pharmaceutical rep living in new jersey. it's a joke about her delusions. i took the photos at our community egg hunt today. look at the locale, the goats, and even the police officer. i don't think you'll ever find a more stereotypical view of rural mississippi.

the first 2 photos in this thread are my daughter. i celebrated easter with my kids on saturday due to my work schedule
plthijinx • Apr 25, 2011 2:42 am
oh i got it! love it too!

Well, these were taken 2 weeks ago but I photographed my grandkids as an Easter gift for their parents so I figured I would post here. I did not let the parents come into my studio, just the kids and my wife to help me. My youngest grandchild, Emily was not too sure about the whole thing so I got her older sister to interact with her and pulled off some good shots. Also the boys liked to clown and did a good job of adlibing.
chrisinhouston • Apr 25, 2011 11:14 am
I should note that my wife and I picked out the Easter outfits, with 5 kids to raise they often show up in an odd mix of t shirts and shorts and I wanted a spring portrait look. Also, I have always prodded child subjects to give me the smiles I want by telling them they can make goofy faces at the end of the photo shoot.

I had fun!

What an awesome set of pictures!
Undertoad • Apr 25, 2011 11:40 am
Most excellent sir. I wish you lived up here so I could hire you for custom photography.
Tulip • Apr 25, 2011 11:45 am
Wonderful pictures! I especially like the one with the two boys. Oh yeah, and the one with the oldest sister holding the youngest's hands is great too. And....nevermind, you take great children pictures.

Just wondering, you have a photo studio? Do you have a website or something with infos? I really like what you did with your grandchildren.

Thanks Tulip. I actually use my converted garage for the occasional photo session, it's doubles as my workshop. I had a studio for about 18 years in the Kirby Rice Village area. When I moved to Kingwood and then later became my parent's caregiver it sort of put my business on hold.

Chris your kids look adorable. They look like they should be off on a pirate ship somewhere with Peter Pan and the lost boys.

I know this isn't an Easter photo, but I don't have anywhere else to post it. This is my 15 year old at her prom. I'm bursting with pride

You're welcome, of course. But brother, I don't make this stuff up, I just report it.

Three daughters and a son. Gotcha, I have three kids, boy, girl, boy. I love them more than I can say.
