Mementos

If you were to die tomorrow, what kind of mementos would your kids and family have of you? Not just your stuff, or even heirlooms, but things you made, gifts you've given, cherished memories?

What kind of heirlooms and mementos do you have from your parents or previous generations of your family? Do you have handmade or personal items from your parents?

I leave behind a ton of crocheted blankets, cross stitch pictures, knitted and crocheted scarves, and a couple half-finished projects that I'm meaning to get around to.

well, that's not bad. except the unfinished projects! why would you want to burden your descendants with that, eh?

I hope to die with one dollar to my name.

This world ain't gave me a lot, and I don't plan on leaving a lot when I go.

I have made a lot of stuff...purses, artwork, food (that won't keep till my death, though.) I am kind of hoping they don't keep a lot of my crap around.

I hope my kids consider the skills I try to teach them from day to day a nice memento. I know that whenever I'm in the kitchen it sort of makes me feel closer to my Mum. She was a great cook, and I think she taught me a lot. I've also inherited most of her cooking equipment which is really lovely. We have a number of heirloom items in the house, so they'll go to the kids also.

Mostly I just hope I'll leave people with wonderful memories. In the end, things don't matter that much.
