Why someone would bother sending a PM to say they're offended boggles the mind, but I guess that's what the person thought was the right thing to do.
Some people are right though, some things are more offensive to some people than others. There are some things said or pictures posted on this site that I find offensive, but that's life. Everyone's different. Sometimes there's a deeper reason for things being viewed as offensive, but usually if that's the case, the person wont actually say it.
I went through this issue years ago when I came here after someone cracked a joke which to me was offensive.
You need to remember that in this place, if people think you should just suck it up then you'll get no sympathy, even if it's about something that's particularly difficult for you.

He's just venting his frustration and confusion as to why his seemingly inoffensive pics were pounced on as a cause for offense when they are probably three of the mildest pics ever to carry an NSFW tag.

Grav, I know this means little coming from me (the one who's "depresseder" than anyone else) but I can tell you that I think I've felt similar to how you're feeling right now.
I've been where I think the whole place is plotting against me. I think that I'm all alone, and I interpret everything as an affront to me.
In retrospect, I've been able to see what is on "me" and what is just "we're all different." Who knows, next week I could be totally pissed off again, but as of late I've been better able to realize that not everyone is going to agree with me or like my style (you can imagine my disbelief when I realized "WHAT? Not everyone on earth likes me? WTF?) ;)
I think people have been really straight on with you about getting the heck over it and moving on. I think that people have maybe held back a little with me when I've gone over the top. I don't know if that's a guy/girl sensitivity, or something else. It's possible that because I've shown that beneath all the tough talk is a sensitive person: I wear my heart on my sleeve so it's all pretty much out there.
If I can play devil's advocate for a moment, maybe your PMer had a point: women have a lot more to offer than just ass and boobies. By extension, you have a lot more to offer than showing your grand appreciation of ass and boobies. You've often cracked me up. You've made me smile...I still think about your pics of the birdie in your yard. I've railed against getting attention because of what we look like. The Cellar, unlike most other forums, and I've dated other forums, places great emphasis on personality. We don't have crazy moving avatars or entire pages devoted to the latest hot naked chick. Firstly, you seem to be using the word "offended" when you really mean "pissed off by". they are not the same thing.
You posted two images of scantily clad women in the WTF NSFW thread. They are not "offensive" in themselves to most people, I would say. But they are most definitely not WTF images. There is nothing overly special about those women. Most dwellars do not come to the cellar for that stuff, so it does annoy them -and shawnee's comments about wives daughters and objectifying women is an appropriate point here....
You compare those with (a) a picture of a guy with an enormous dick. That is somewhat WTF, as is the expression on the other guy's face. And it's funny. And it's NSFW. But it definitely has a WTF element. and (b) NSFW picture of a dwellar in the Dwellar NSFW thread. That's doing exactly what is says on the tin. Just because you don't like the penis doesn't mean the pic is inappropriate or offensive where it is.
And your final comparison. Again, the picture you posted not WTF at all. But the post as a whole is mean-spirited and not remotely interesting or amusing. Take Shawnee's comment about mothers/wives and apply it to parents/grandparents. Many of us here are parents, grandparents, we are or know and love and respect seniors. What were you trying to say with that pic? and for the picture you compared it with, see comment (b) above.
It's not the images that are offensive, it's not about nudity and sex, it's your attitude that's offensive, it's about what you are communicating when you post those pics in the places you post them. Seriously, what are you trying to say when you post these images? You want to post pics of scantily clad women because you enjoy them -make a thread for it.
