Dec 18, 2010: RGB Room

The RGB room, that's Red, Green, Blue room, is currently showing at the Johanssen Gallery in Berlin.
Maybe after the exhibition you could buy it, to install in the tripping balls room of your house.
An exhibition which showcases a series of wallpapers that mutate and interact with different chromatic stimulus.
The wall coverings consist of three different patterns (in red, yellow and blue respectively) that when overlapped,
result in a disorientation of images.
When colors and patterns mix up, the lines and shapes entwine becoming oneiric and not completely clear.

Yup, that's pretty oneiric all right. Pssst, Adjective: Of or relating to dreams or dreaming.
Thought I'd save you the trouble of looking it up... no you didn't... oh no you did not. :right:

But viewed through a red, green or blue filter, or lit with a red, green, or blue light, each color reveals a different wall pattern.

Pretty cool huh? A simple principle demonstrated in a dramatic way.

Link where you can see the pictures bigafied, and some other examples.

They should've painted the floor the same.

Nice demonstration!

Have to leave it in the museum though. Couldn't have all those animals running around inside the house. ;)

Those of us who read The Sandman had no trouble with this.
Who says comic books aren't educational?

Pretty cool wallpaper. I wish the green was red though.
I don't really like the red pictures as they are - big fish are creepy enough in black and white.

(I didn't know)

I've got to stop playing room escape games. I see this thread title and I think "click on the fish to get a wrench. Turn the room blue. Use the wrench on the turtle to get a key."

I like simple principles. Who was it that said "These are my simple principles, if you don't like them I'll simply make others."?

I think that was you. :p:

Freaky. Add to that room a lamp that lowly cycles between the three colours.

Or better, have three (R, G, B) pictures of one scene with the animals having moved a little, with the colour-changing lamp. Could you do more than three colours?

"Those are my principles. If you don't like them I have others."

Groucho Marx.

Just when I thought I'd creeped myself out enough....!
NO THANK YOU, Zen Stephen King Gum.
