The Gingerbread man travels around the world

For those who like to join in with this sort of thing, here's a request from a friend:

Hi everyone- I need your help! My k-care class is doing a 3 week unit on the Gingerbread man. Next Tuesday he will run away from our classroom and hopefully journey around the world. This is what I need from you-please contact anyone you know who doesn't live in Ann Arbor and ask them to send my class a post card from where they live. Filling out the postcard can be a "sighting" or can be from the Man himself! After receiving the cards our class will mark "his" location on a world map. The farther the better! The cards can be sent to:

Burns Park k-care
% Mrs.O's class
1414 Wells Street
Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104

Thank you!

If you let me know if you send one, I can let you know if it arrives -just tell me where you sent it from, that should be enough.

We'll be on the lookout for him in Portland, Oregon on Dec 17th.

Maybe he will be visiting his cousin, Flat Stanley, from my G-daughter's 1st grade class.
Stanley flew to North Carolina and New Zealand and then back to Oregon a couple of years ago.

Why December 17th? Not that that isn't an awesome date but.....just curious

what's "k-care?" Is that younger than kindergarten?
monster • Nov 29, 2010 10:32 pm
no it's Kindergarten age. "Educational babysitting" in school outside of regular kindergarten hours (which are still half days in most schools here).

He'll be getting a card from Aylesbury.
I'll get my bro to send one from London - his will probably be quite a simple sighting.
Mine will probably be crammed with incomprehensible information from A Gingerbread Man Abroad :)

Cool. Last day of school here. Can't wait. Thanksgiving was not long enough!

Thanks SG, you were the first one I thought of, I knew you'd be up for it :)

I've heard he's going to visit the Lighthouse on Sanda Island, Kintyre, Scotland!

cool, thanks. I'm sure he'll be very interested -Michigan is known for it's lighthouses, too

He's going to linger long enough to write a real letter from Austin. Might even be stained with real enchilada sauce.

We did get one from Austin too! A letter from GBman...I forgot that one!
Sounds like it was memorable, even if she temporarily forgot it.... thanks :)

The G-man sent a postcard today from PDX

Thanks. Won't be able to report back on it until after the 3rd, though, because school is out now.

Aw, rats - just recently returned from 6 weeks in Australia and New Zealand, along with a 2500 mile round trip in the USA to get to the airport. (Family member was dog-sitting for us, of course there is an airport closer.) Would have sent cards from all along. I know how exciting it is to mail when you're a kid!
