No more Dutch treat

If anyone wants to go the the Netherlands for some no-hassle recreational partying, you'd might want to make those reservations fast.

Here's why

(Reuters) - The Dutch government said on Wednesday it wanted to ban tourists from buying cannabis in "coffee shops," where hash is on sale legally, as part of a national crackdown on drug use.

I wonder how far this will get re Amsterdam...
After all coffeeshops (places that allow the sale of drugs and their smoking on the premises) bring in a huge amount of tourism. And stricter rules elsewhere in the city mean public behaviour is far better contained. I felt SO safe in the 'Dam. Okay, I lived in London and felt safe there, but honestly, walking out of a coffeeshop and past a small outpost of the Red Light District was easily more comfortable than walking down Leyton High Street (E10)

From my understanding this is not the full story.
