vomit--even pseudo vomit--never makes me smile.

on a very tenuously related note, I'm going to stop patronizing Hobby Lobby. Too Christian--never any halloween stuff, tho-aisles and aisles of religious Christmas stuff. and closed on sundays for "family and worship." now that does kinda make me vomit. my personal opinion, okay!
Lamplighter • Oct 9, 2010 5:37 pm
Sorry Cloud, I didn't mean to offend.

I haven't yet found a way to remove that pic from my Attachments.
Cloud • Oct 9, 2010 6:57 pm
hey, don't worry about me. I know lots of people aren't bothered by it. and it is clever.
casimendocina • Oct 9, 2010 10:10 pm
It was gross, but clever.

Why, she's already seen it. Since she doesn't care for it, and knows where it is, she won't look at it again... simple as that.

I doubt it's possible to post a picture, or express an opinion, that won't offend someone. To make that a goal, would make for a very small, and boring message board.
morethanpretty • Oct 10, 2010 7:32 am
Hell, I'm not sure even 1 person would be able to use a message board without offending anyone. I offend myself all the time!
xoxoxoBruce • Oct 10, 2010 8:49 am
Exactly. :D
Lamplighter • Oct 10, 2010 10:32 am
Maybe who it was you offended makes a difference...
xoxoxoBruce • Oct 10, 2010 12:07 pm
No, it doesn't matter. If you care, you can certainly apologize, that's just manners, but removing posts is of no benefit to the offended, and harmful to the board.
Cloud • Oct 10, 2010 1:43 pm
I wasn't offended; I merely wanted to point out the intention of the post wasn't met for all readers.

I have a sense of humor, really! Just not amused really by farting, pooping, vomiting, and other bodily eructations. Everyone's mileage varies

The pumpkin puke is one of my friend Steve's favorites - he's used it twice now at our campground pumpkin contests. This year's (yesterday) was a pumpkin that appeared to be gnawed on by several fake worms (fishing lures). I think he got 3rd place.

I did Cinderella's coach last year, but sadly, didn't even place :(

Here's an article and video about the haunted house near us. It's amazing ...and free. One year he raised money for our pool (it's just round the corner), and another for a school theter trip to Scotland -the kids were the actors in the graveyard....

HungLikeJesus • Oct 27, 2010 10:01 pm
But if it's free, how did he raise money for those things?
monster • Oct 27, 2010 10:09 pm
He makes them. And he does it professionally. And used to work for Disney.
HungLikeJesus • Oct 27, 2010 10:22 pm
No, I meant for the school and for the trip.

Edit: Now that I've watched the video I realize that there's a donation bucket at the end. Never mind.
monster • Oct 27, 2010 11:21 pm
sorry, i wan't clear, you were right to ask....

Thats the perfect decoration for halloween. How do you go about doing it? I have a huge picture window that would showcase the video perfectly.
xoxoxoBruce • Oct 28, 2010 1:17 am
You can buy them here, but turn your sound down first.

yup, donation bucket at the end. I would guesstimate from being there that maybe only 50% donate, and they're not aggressive with the bucket at all. So it really is "free". But Robert is well known and well loved and the house is really enjoyed by all in the neighborhood, so those who do donate, donate substantially. Those sort of donations soon add up.

took me a while to figure out what to do with this pumpkin... but the shape of it seemed to ask for something like this:
jimhelm • Oct 28, 2010 10:08 am
I need to spend some more time smoothing and shaving it down to make it thinner, but I'll wait until Sunday to do that because it's warm out here, and they rot quickly when you do this. It's coated with oil right now to preserve it. It will glow nicely when lit. I put a couple vent holes in the back and two in the top to let air move through it.
monster • Oct 28, 2010 10:22 am
Do the Squirrels eat them too? They do here if we carve them too early. Maybe they become more attractively scented a few days after they are carved, once they start to deteriorate? I think we're carving ours tonight -no swimming, a rare evening at home for two of the three terrors. And the hockey nut only has 90 minutes off-ice practice.
jimhelm • Oct 28, 2010 10:34 am
I hope the squirrels here are so full from all the acorns that came off of the White Oak. Holy Hell, what a lot of acorns.
monster • Oct 28, 2010 10:47 am
Your next challenge: carving acorn lanterns.....

Some of the ones I encountered on my walk this morning were probably big enough to get a tealight in.....

OOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I want so bad and $24 is so reasonable considering how much I want, but I didn't see what is used to project the video and I bet that device costs a lot more. :(
xoxoxoBruce • Oct 28, 2010 12:41 pm
From engadget.
