Let's Make A Story...Out Of Song Lyrics
The next line has to be a complete verse from a song, any song. Can be one line or two. You can cite the song if you like.
Here we go:
"Outside in the cold distance a wildcat did growl,
two riders were approaching, and the wind began to howl"
"All Along The Watchtower" - Bob Dylan/Jimi Hendrix
Strangers in the night
Two lonely people, we were strangers in the night
All we are is dust in the wind.
Well that's the way I've always heard it should be!
Dawn of light lying between a silence and sold sources,
Chased amid fusions of wonder, in moments hardly seen forgotten
It was the blackest night
There was no moon in sight
You know the stars ain't shinin'
'Cause the sky's too tight
I heard the scary wind
I seen some ugly trees
There was a werewolf honkin'
'Long the side of me
I want you, I need you, but I ain't ever gonna love you.
Dooooooon't beeeeeeeeee sad, cuz,
You gotta fight
Keep up the pace
Stand tall, even when you trip and fall
Keep up the pace
Stand tall, even when you trip and fall
No, no...They just have less body.
short people got no body
You're nobody 'til somebody loves you.
Everybody needs somebody to love (someone to love)
Sweetheart to miss; sugar to kiss
(this is more of a lyric association thread than a story, isn't it? ...Well I've lost the plot, anyway...)
let's try having a conversation in song lyrics then...
Hey, Joe... where you going with that gun in your hand?

Thread drift...fun anyway though!

Hey, Joe... where you going with that gun in your hand?
Shoot, shoot, shoooooooot all the clowns.
Don't bother - they're here
I cry the tears of a clown.
when there's no-one around?
I'm going to wait for the movie.
Baby, I've been waiting,
I've been waiting
Night and day
I didn't see the time,
I waited half my life away
There were lots of invitations
And I know you sent me some,
But I was waiting
For the miracle,
For the miracle to come
(Leonard Cohen)
Baby, I've been waiting,
I've been waiting
Night and day
I didn't see the time,
I waited half my life away
There were lots of invitations
And I know you sent me some,
But I was waiting
For the miracle,
For the miracle to come
(Leonard Cohen)
Quick thread drift: I bought tickets to Leonard Cohen a few months back. I'm now thinking about not going and giving away the ticket or selling it. It's probably the last tour he'll ever do, but at this point in time I don't care. Am I mad?
...but at this point in time I don't care. Am I mad?
You're not mad, just apathetic.

You have to go (because) I would love to go see him.
More Leonard Cohen:
Was looking at the crucifix. Got something in my eye.
A Light that doesn't need to live and doesn't need to die.
What's written in the Book of Love is strangely incomplete,
'til witnessed here in time and blood a thousand kisses deep.
I'll pretend I'm 3Foot for the night.
Have you seen the doco on Leonard Cohen (Leonard Cohen: I'm your man)? I loved the bit with Nick Cave talking about the first time he ever heard Leonard Cohen in Wangarratta and he felt as if he were somehow superior to everyone else in the town because he knew about L.C. and no-one else did.
