What's touching your heart today?

So, I just got back from my friend's son's wake. He was in dress blues and there was a guard standing by his casket. It was very sad, parents should not have to experience the death of their child.

I heard that a few people complained to a coworker of the mom about how they are pacifists or oppose the war, or have some other major social malfunction that precludes them from offering sympathy to bereaved parents. (Get the fuck over yourself) I'm not for the war either, but that's got nothing to do with this boy dying in Afghanistan. WTF? How conscientious can you be if your main thought at a time like this is your puny moral convictions rather than how his parents must feel seeing him for the last time.

Tonight one of my friends described how the boy (young man) had built a fence around her garden with his dad, just a month or so ago, two weeks before he shipped out for his second tour of duty. She is going to affix a small Marine Corps flag to the gate.

There's a bunch of other stuff, but I'll leave it out.

So sorry foot. Hugs for the family.
There is really nothing else I can say.

Wow Foot, so sorry for your friends. I have been there and done all of that with direct friends as well as parents of soldiers. My heart goes out to you and your friends. Best wishes....

What total assholes, I think these people are as bad, if not worse, than Phelps screaming outside.

f3 I would hate to have been in your situation. The cow orkers suck, but at least they didn't say it to the parents.

The cow orker should've looked at those 'people' and said, in a low, calm voice: "You're a jerk."

Actually, I think she told them off as she had also lost a son many years ago. I think it was more of a WTF is your problem? You are talking to the wrong person...

I found out who the knuckle head was and, surprisingly, I was not surprised.
