No, seriously, I feel fine.

WTF? Normally, I'm a "nobody ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of people" kind of guy. But even so, this takes the cake.

Sixty nine percent of the adults surveyed said emergency response agencies should regularly monitor their Web sites and social media networks so they can respond promptly to requests for help posted there; 74 percent said they would expect help to arrive in an hour.

I did it just yesterday, but it's not very convenient. I saw an accident outside of my house. I went to the computer and logged into facebook. Then, I searched for my local police/fire/EMS and sent them a friend request. EVENTUALLY, they accepted my friend request and I was able to report the accident.

Talk about stupidity.

Marginally related... We had a power outage at our facility and could not get in touch with the city. The local newspaper, however, provided information via Twitter. At that time, Twitter was our only source of information.
