Readers of John Irving will recognize the motif (although Irving prefers the bicycling bear), but nevertheless here is an actual skating bear. Pretty remarkable.

I'd say that that all depends on what they went through to teach the bear to do that. I have seen some animals that actually
enjoy their tricks, but I have seen some that have been practically starved as part of their "training."
Yes i agree lisa, they used to teach dancing bears by making the m stand on red hot metal plates. My point is as much as that, that many of these animals are quite rare inthe wild, and frankly, we can find lesscruel form of entertainment before we lose another species?
