Michael Jackson - This is It

A more aptly named documentary could not exist.

I watched it last night, and even though I've always been something of a fan, I was rather deeply affected by seeing the process of him preparing for the greatest concerts that never were. I came away from it actually mourning the loss of a tremendous talent, and utterly impressed by his work ethic, his intimate involvement with the process of putting together the intended show, his attention to detail, and his egalitarian approach to his supporting musicians and dancers.

I could probably wax more eloquently, but I think I'll just stop by saying this: Yes, the man was a human freak. But he was a gifted, deeply, profoundly talented human freak.

I never was a fan, will I get anything out of it?
