This lad in China, Eight-year-old Maimaiti Hali, developed a tumor or growth of some sort which made his classmates call him "turtle boy".

Ew, look at the hair on it. Ew.

So doctors operated, and removed it. But we're not told what it really was, or why it happened, or WTF. Anyway, he can be a part of our Cellar Turtle Fest 2010.

Now maybe his head won't have to compete for resources.

Asians in a half-shell, TURTLE POWER!

... They're coming.

Four years in a warrior monastery and he totally would have been a teenage mutant ninja turtle. Seems a shame to let that opportunity go.

I told myself and told myself: do not open an IotD with the words "growth" and "removed" in the title. I didn't listen to myself.

There goes his career in the TMNT movies... !

Now, you'll be forever disappointed that he chose to remove his gift, right?

Maybe they could send it, to you? You could have it surgically grafted, to your back, and then YOU would have the gift... the power.

Would that make you happy?

Oh HALE no. Take that gift off, throw that gift away, do not let that gift darken his, mine, or anyone else's doorstep ever again.

Okay... but it'll darken your back. How's that? ;)

By all that is unholy, I decree that, upon the first Friday in June, you shall awaken with a hairy shell adorning your back.

Can you drop a basement? Just kidding. :p:

Glinda just hasn't been the same since that house fell on her sister.

Can I get some synchronized watches? My cable modem and my cable TV have different times. (What is up with that?)

The way I see it, I have one hour and 2 to 5 minutes before I get turtle back.

Tomorrow is Friday, right?
HungLikeJesus • Jun 3, 2010 11:02 pm
Only in English-speaking countries.

I knew he was Chinese the minute I saw the title.

Why is that, I wonder?
ZenGum • Jun 4, 2010 8:25 pm
Yeah. All this stuff about China "poisoning our kids" and that... Remember, the lead-coated children's toys in our shops are the relatively clean, approved for export end products. The Chinese kids are growing up playing with the second rate toys, eating the melamine-milk, and breathing the fumes from the production process.
The Chinese government *could* get it under control. They choose faster economic growth instead. (I wish I hadn't said growth there). Sewing and reaping, right here.

"They never did turn me into a turtle."

Perhaps you weren't worthy.
Shawnee123 • Jun 5, 2010 1:50 pm
They almost loved me up, though.
