Making and playing with Gak.

Elmer's White Glue, liquid starch and food coloring. Mix and play, but best to keep it out of the carpet, and off upholstered furniture.;)

Best to do it at (pre)school, where others are paid/will volunteer to clean it up ;)

honestly it's not as messy as it sounds- Another they make around these parts, is Oobleck. Fun stuff, and since you can color it in an assortment of colors, it's easy to make for each child, so they don't fight over whose is whose. Just make a different color for each one.
