Mother Lion, Baby Antelope

This Lioness has been adopting baby Antelope. Kind of a strange occurance I think.

This lioness has adopted five of these oryxes since featured in IotD.

A previous calf was eaten by a male lion.

When this latest calf died of hunger last Thursday ... she ate it.

Is this adoption or bringing home the dinner?

Crap I looked through quality images but for some reason decided to skip IMoD. Why I don't know. :confused:
