What is your favorite Ice Cream?

fargon • Mar 28, 2010 1:49 pm
My favorite ice cream:
Rocky Road
Vanilla
Chocolate
or just about any thing else you can put in a bowl or on a cone.
DanaC • Mar 28, 2010 1:56 pm
I'm not big for Ice cream
Cloud • Mar 28, 2010 2:17 pm
coffee, chocolate, good vanilla with chocolate and/or caramel syrup.

also, alien alert! @ Dana

Used to by Breyer's all natural vanilla, but then they got bought out by Unilever or some such corporation and it tastes like gummy crap now.

The Safeway store brand has a Butterfinger one that's pretty good.

I don't like lumps in my ice cream. none of that chunky monkey stuff--give me smooth and creamy.

chocolate chips are okay though. just not chunks, fruit, nuts, cookie dough or what have you.
Pico and ME • Mar 28, 2010 3:32 pm
A scoop of rocky road with a scoop of Pistachio nut.

But mostly, really, I just love a chocolate/vanilla swirl soft serve cone from the DQ.
DanaC • Mar 28, 2010 3:49 pm
Oh! There is one kind of ice cream I really like: Kulfi.

Other than that ... I dunno. I like it when i do actually eat it, but I don't fancy it most of the time. Every so often, I fancy icecream, and I buy a tub, once that's gone that's it for a year or so. Last time I had ice cream in the freezer, it was Bailey's ice cream.
Cloud • Mar 28, 2010 4:18 pm
oooh, Bailey's . . .

(swoon)

now, you just quit it. damn it fargon, you have to making fun of me, and now I want ice cream!

Chubby Hubby

New York Super Fudge Chunk

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

It's been years since I've eaten Ice cream like that.
jinx • Mar 28, 2010 9:38 pm
...many, many years.

I cant even remember... I think I liked mint choc chip the best.
monster • Mar 28, 2010 9:41 pm

Caramel Praline or Peach.

One of the advantages of wearing dentures.
Urbane Guerrilla • Mar 29, 2010 2:13 pm
Most consistently, coffee. And it has to be strongly flavored, Ben & Jerry's style. Or Starbucks -- they wouldn't dare do otherwise.

But of the chocolates, there is one spoken of in whispers by veteran Baskin-Robbins countermen: a seasonal, sometimes-available flavor called Double Dutch Chocolate Fudge. Many years ago I got a coneful, tried it, and gave my roommate a lick too. Her eyes got big and round and she said, "That's eeevil!!" Double Dutch Chocolate Fudge is as near to opium as I have ever come.

Chocolate
Chocolate Chip
Chocolate Moose Tracks (like Moose Tracks, only with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla)

(very occasionally Mint Chocolate Chip, but it has to be the white, not green kind)
Urbane Guerrilla • Mar 29, 2010 2:33 pm
Well... the green's part of the fun, but it's true, there's no pressing need for the food coloring. I wonder if lime zest plays well with mint? Little green sprinklie-thingies throughout the ice cream...
classicman • Mar 29, 2010 2:51 pm
Chocolate and it has to be REAL Ice cream. No Ice milk or low fat low this or that.
Ice CREAM!

That being said I prefer chocolate, mint chocolate chip or chocolate peanut butter. Yes, there is a trend there.
Sundae • Mar 29, 2010 3:04 pm
Mint choc chip is toothpaste with bits in.
I eat it for nostalgic reasons though.

My all time favourite was Haagen Dazs Vanilla Chocolate Fudge. I loved to mine the seams of choc & fudge and leave my bf the vanilla (same way I used to eat the chicken out of the Chinese takeaway - why did we break up?)

But that was when I was 19/20.
I have less of a sweet tooth now.
Plain vanilla will do me.

Argh - I lie.
This is where I went when I was in Amsterdam to wave to my Mum (and talk on the phone) so she knew I was alive and not dead from drugs and sex and cake. Well, she didn't have to know everything! It's an almost live webcam - we timed the delay at about 30 seconds.

The shop with the orange sign (back right) is "Australia". They sell ice cream, chocolates, coffee etc al. Of the three occasions I met my appointment there, I went and scoffed ice-cream afterwards. Mocha, chocolate, vanilla. Two out of the three combined. Those Aussies make a mean ice-cream, mate.
Spexxvet • Mar 29, 2010 4:28 pm
Heavenly Hash
Rocky Road
Chcolate Peanutbutter Cup
Pete Zicato • Mar 29, 2010 4:33 pm
My favorite ice cream ever was mandarin orange - which was available one month a year at Baskin Robbins. Sadly, I can't have chocolate any more.

I console myself with Reese's Pieces blizzards.

Or Dean's Homemade Vanilla

Or, when I can persuade Mrs. Z, carob ice-cream which is truly homemade.
