Put butter on anything and fry it - makes it way better.
Sundae • Mar 24, 2010 11:41 am
Add grated cheese and Tabasco to anything, makes it awesomer.

Cicero • Mar 24, 2010 1:09 pm
Hot and Flavorful vs Bland and Cold. I get this part. But why are the simplicities of cheese and crackers so awesome? Why is this not sad....
skysidhe • Mar 24, 2010 1:55 pm
Cheese sandwich plus tomato and or even onion = not so sad

jinx • Mar 24, 2010 1:59 pm

Because hot crackers, most anyway, are not that good.

I have mustard, onion, and a tomato; I believe my sandwich conundrum has been solved.
Clodfobble • Mar 24, 2010 11:14 pm
We had BLTs for dinner tonight. Just thought you all should know.
Cicero • Mar 24, 2010 11:25 pm
I knew it...The answer really is bacon.
Tulip • Mar 24, 2010 11:37 pm
I have never tried grilled cheese. It is something I really should try one day? :p: Cheese sandwich -- I like mine with french bread, camembert, slices of tomato, sprinkled with Italian dressing and pepper. Yum! :D
lumberjim • Mar 24, 2010 11:52 pm
If you put bacon on a cheese sandwich....it instantly becomes a Bacon sandwich with cheese.

just sayin

actually, it happens before you actually do it. it happens at the conception of the bacon idea.
Pico and ME • Mar 24, 2010 11:55 pm
But its called a grilled cheese with bacon. Just sayin.
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 24, 2010 11:58 pm
No no, it's a BACON with grilled cheese and bread sandwich.
sexobon • Mar 25, 2010 4:17 am
If the cheese sandwich is to be grilled, pass the bacon. If the cheese sandwich is to be cold, pass the Grey Poupon.
Trilby • Mar 25, 2010 5:31 am
There are two kinds of food -- those that can be improved with bacon, and those that can be improved with chocolate.

Brianna's paradox: And yet, bacon and chocolate do not mix.

Brianna's addendum: But butter goes with everything.
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 25, 2010 7:36 am
Au contraire, chocolate covered bacon. :yum:
Trilby • Mar 25, 2010 9:47 am
chocolate covered bacon fried in butter!
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 25, 2010 9:48 am

Yes, yes it is you should try it.

The sandwich stands as tomato, onion, and Munster cheese.

The original sandwich can be solved with the stone soup view.

The next thing is new ways to deal with cantaloupe

It's about the crunch, the caramelization/ maillard reactions, the fat as someone else pointed out, and the warmer temp makes the cheese and other flavors more pronounced, as well as more satisfying. There is something about eating warm food that hits up more endorphin receptor sites (I can't be bothered to find it now) So the only thing missing is Ham or Canadian bacon. REgular bacon would do in a pinch, but this is a case where Ham is clearly indicated. Tomato? Meh, if it's a lousy tomato is fucks the whole thing up. If it's a good tomato, the whole thing can be sublime, if a bit messy.

So, tulip, if you like dairy go for it.
Undertoad • Mar 26, 2010 5:34 pm
The first grilled cheese one experiences should be from supermarket white bread, salted butter, and American cheese.

After that one can branch out into whole wheat and additional ingredients and such. But one should experience the raw form of it first.

Also, tomato soup.
squirell nutkin • Mar 26, 2010 10:18 pm
That's the comfort 1-2 combo. Arnold's white bread made awesome toast and grilled cheese sammies.
lumberjim • Mar 26, 2010 11:43 pm
fuck the dumbshit.

if you're gonna eat fried bread, cheese, and bacon....you might as well include some grilled turkey and tomato. Ordered from Denny's at 2:20 AM after a wild night at the local bar where you stunned the crowd with your karaoke prowess...... it's your best hope of sobering up enough to drive home without getting picked up for a DUI.

I give you the Super Bird:

Dude, She's all Vietnamese and everything. I don't know a single, East of India, Asian that eats dairy. Some of my older friends are gacked out by the thought of it, so mad props to Tulip for even considering it. I'd like to see a culinary cage match between Tulip and any other Dwellar (with the exception of Billy if he's still alive)

That's be a PPV powerhouse.

(All respect to your cuisine, Tulip, even if I did think you were Taiwanese)

Toast. Butter. Marmalade (ginger marmalade is even better). Slice of cheese. All under grill. Allow to cool a little before nom to avoid burning the roof of your mouth clean off on superhot cheese and marmalade.
