Okay, now a serious question about morse, and I guess it is for Merc since he is leaning it properly.
If you are sending morse by flashlight or whistle or something, it is easy to do long and short signals, but if you're tapping, it is not clear to me how to do so. I can think of two ways.
The slower way would be to use two taps for each symbol, with a long pause between them for a dash, and a very short pause for a dot. So -. would be "tap ....tap taptap".
Alternatively, you could send two very close taps for the dash, and one tap for the dot,so -. would be taptap ... tap.
I prefer the second option - it is more efficient - but is there an established convention on this?
