What's the Stupidest thing you've done recently?

lumberjim • Mar 19, 2010 11:33 pm
I unplugged my sump pump a couple days before we got 4 inches of rain.....

I think I was using the grinder, and forgot to put it back like it was.....

So, I came home to 6 inches of water in my basement. how do I get 6 inches if it only rained 4?
squirell nutkin • Mar 19, 2010 11:57 pm
Your neighbor's sump pump was running.
skysidhe • Mar 20, 2010 11:45 pm
There is a creek near our garbage cans. There was some trash that had blown into the creek so I went in to get it.

Let's just say..no good deed will go unpunished. :)
zippyt • Mar 20, 2010 11:47 pm

skysidhe • Mar 20, 2010 11:52 pm

I put on platform sandals for the first time since last summer, before stepping out on this lovely spring day...and proceeded to walk at least 25 blocks.

Ow, ow, ow...

Well, as the day wore on (and on, and on) yesterday, it quickly became apparent that the stupidest thing I did was get out of bed. Srsly.:mad2:

A friend did the stupidest thing a few weeks ago. I was at her house, we were watching a dvd. She had a flashlight in her hand from searching under the couch for the -ahem- "smoking accesory". At this point there was very dark scene in the flick, and I commented that something was about to 'get' the girl in the scene, my friend said "What is it", to which I replied, "I can't tell, it's too dark".

She pointed the (still on) flashlight at the tv. She knew she did a stupid thing, and tried to cover it up, but, the damage was done.

Built homemade ramps to load my lawn tractor on the F-250. Extremely bad idea. No broken bones, but I went straight to town the next morning and purchased a set.........

Three minutes ago I made a pot of coffee. I forgot the actual coffee. I made a pot of hot water.

I just wasted SO much energy. ;)
Undertoad • Apr 4, 2010 8:57 am
I did that last week and when I poured the hot water back into the coffee maker, it made the coffee in like 30 seconds.
Shawnee123 • Apr 4, 2010 9:01 am
I didn't think of that! See how much energy I wasted? I poured cold water back into a too hot coffee maker and am lucky I didn't scald my face off!
squirell nutkin • Apr 4, 2010 3:26 pm
Well, thank god you're not in charge of student loans or anything like that. :bolt:

So I'm getting close to the end of my Twin Peaks obsession. 20 years after it was on TV, I am now almost through the 2nd and last season.

BUT...I remembered putting disc 4 into the mail, and I had one more ep on disc 5, so it's still at home. However, I didn't have disc 6 next in my netflix queue. I'll have to wait until next weekend to see the end of the series.

I will get to see W. I wonder if it's any good?
squirell nutkin • Apr 9, 2010 10:25 pm
I got bogged down in season three of the sopranos and ended up reading the synopsis on wikipedia.

I would consider watching the last bit of twin peaks or Northern Exposure if it were available streaming on netflix.

Put off doing homework until an hour before it was due. I knew I needed more time to figure this project out, I had to miss a class this week so I have no real clue whats going on. I just turned in a program that will not compile. Fuck.
Sundae • Apr 12, 2010 5:14 am
Somehow when playing with my watch I set the date forward TWO days!

This morning I thought I had missed two payments due on the 14th, had not put the birthday card through Mum's friend's door on the 13th and missed a hair appointment.

Realising it was still the 12th after I logged on here should have been pure relief, but my nerve endings have been set to jangle and won't stay quiet. Sigh.
bbro • Apr 13, 2010 10:36 am
Let's see - recently? A carnie.....yep.
xoxoxoBruce • Apr 13, 2010 1:26 pm
Carnie? Carnival worker?
bbro • Apr 13, 2010 1:34 pm
Exactly Bruce. Two days I knew him and he was already talking about meeting my parents. When I mentioned how I want to go to Bora Bora - he was going to take me.
xoxoxoBruce • Apr 13, 2010 1:36 pm
Danger! Danger! :eyebrow:
bbro • Apr 13, 2010 1:38 pm
Tell me about it. But he is already out of town and will be gone for seven months. Plenty of time for me to burst the bubble.
xoxoxoBruce • Apr 13, 2010 1:42 pm
You're smarter than the average bear. ;)
bbro • Apr 13, 2010 1:45 pm
Sometimes. ;)

Woke up from a horrible nightmare and then quickly wanted to go back to it when I realized I am to blame! I voted for the anti-Christ! (okay, technically I didn't vote for Obama recently, but I am paying for it now!)

Read Yznhymr's post when i know they're an idiot.

At least you can express remorse about it -- unlike one who shall remain nameless because I've taken a real dislike to him. :mad2: Took years of effort on his part too.

C'mon, peeps, no politicking outside the politics forum. And maybe current events.

Thinking I could trust my mother.

Turns out that the bitch that waits and uses personal information to hurt you isn't in fact gone. It lies just beneath the surface, and a pissy enough mood is enough to rouse it.

Silly me.

Almost get you thrown in Jail for Check fraud ,
Then Borrow money from a Mutual friend saying that You would Pay them back ,
Then when you send Pay Checks home to settle the debt Spend those and never pay said EX Friend a Penny .

ZenGum • Apr 25, 2010 8:39 pm
So, Zip, what actually happened with the pipes?
Did you just mix up the hot and cold inflow? That would be easy to deal with, remark the taps. Or did you put the SEWER - OUT into the SHOWER - IN? eeeiiiuuuww.
