Hiranyagarbha

One of the most logical manifestations by religion about the beginning of the universe:

It is as illogical as every other religious explanation.

What with all the gurus in the world out of work, I can't believe you are giving away the secret to the meaning of life.

Ishavasya Upanishad:
The Ishavasya Upanishad says that the universe is pervaded by Ishvara (God), who is both within and without it. He is the moving and the unmoving, He is far and near, He is within all these and without all these.

Grand Unification Theory:
The term Grand Unified Theory or GUT, refers to any of several similar models in particle physics in which at high energy scales, the three gauge interactions of the Standard Model which define the electromagnetic, weak, and strong interactions, are merged into one single interaction characterized by a larger gauge symmetry and one unified coupling constant rather than three independent ones.

Which makes it the same as every religion on earth.

Theory: noun: a tentative theory about the natural world; a concept that is not yet verified but that if true would explain certain facts or phenomena.
Unproven, which everyone can accept or reject, just like every religion in the world.

Hence the "GUT" ;)

Hardly any similarity to someone standing in darkness and ordering "let there be an earth......"

Unproven, which everyone can accept or reject, just like every religion in the world.

Theories form basis of research and studies which drive the world ahead. Relativity was a theory, so was quantum physics at some point of time in the past. Every theory is based on defining the the facts supported by relevant proofs. GUT has some core pillars supporting it. There's enough google can can show about this theory not being merely a hypotheses.

...And plenty of physicists who disagree with you, wanderer.

They may have all been theories, but not all theories become facts. Infinitely more are proven false. Awe heck - the world is flat again folks - just so you know. :eyebrow:

A theory is always an initialization platform that is based on some deductions. Then there are further facts/equations/calculations/research to establish the validity. Without a theory in the first place, hardly any progress is possible.
World used to be flat once for the human race. That was what the observatory senses of the man told him. The newer discoveries negated the theory and proved that earth is spherical. Hardly there will be any head, that if not taught basics of science, would ever be able to tell the difference. He will continue to live with fear of falling of the edge of the plate

Which shows that without external input, the brain will usually come to the wrong conclusion.

Are all your hopes, worries, happiness, sorrow, love, hate make believe. No doubt that they are inflicted due to external factors but how do you really feel them?

Yes.
My mind makes them up.
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 18, 2010 3:12 pm
Yes makes them up, in reaction to outside stimulus.
The things the mind creates without stimulus (cause), may be fun, but are likely irrelevant to reality, and not useful beyond entertainment.

i was that cow.... Hiranyagarbha was the noise I made when I farted out all the air trapped in the ice.
