Do Americans use this term? And if so, for male scalps, shaven lady-gardens or both of the above?

bald as a billiard ball

In my part of 'Merica I have heard "bald as a coot" to describe baldness.

Note: A coot is a small, dark grey bird with a circle of white feathers on its head.
