Jan 9, 2010: Duct Tape Prom

I'd seen clothes made out of, or decorated with, Duct Tape before.
Yeah cool, ho hum.
But this is an order of magnitude above those basic designs.

Odds are you've heard of Duct Tape Prom, but in case you haven't here's the deal. Duck brand Duct Tape holds a scholarship contest every year to see who can make the best prom outfit outta duct tape-- the winners gets $3,000 for college, and in these times, every penny counts. And just think of all the money you can save by buying your prom attire at Office Depot instead of Bloomingdale's.

Looks to me like they spent the whole school year designing and creating these outfits.
They certainly earned their three grand. :thumb2:
Lots more at the link, too.

This could really take off, if they stick with it.

Wow. And here I felt a sense of accomplishment making my own duct tape wallet.

How do the chaperones get them apart if they slow dance? Crowbar? Blasting Caps?

They won't stick, precious bodily fluids lubricate them.;)

I assume those kids on the right come from a nice wealthy neighborhood, perhaps where there might be a mercedes in the drive? :right: Maybe?

I'm afraid they were trying for peace symbols, not Mercedes.

I don't see any pron

I think it's just a great way to sell tons of duck tape to unsuspecting teens who have no idea what they are getting into. Minimum of 6 rolls for the basic dress, another minimum 6 for the suit, round it up to 15 rolls at average $7 bucks a roll, that's over $100 bucks per couple....

I guess it's fun for somebody...

That is exactly what I saw in the title too. I was sadly disappointed.
