Jan 7, 2010: Don't Eat The Yellow Snow

xoxoxoBruce • Jan 6, 2010 11:58 pm
Stevie Famulari of Fargo paints her snow, you'll have to ask her why.

Image

She changes the color of her snow with each new layer that falls. She plans to paint the next snowfall a purplish blue and the one after that will be black.

She chose her colors to become darker as the season progresses. When the snow melts, she expects the older layers to be revealed.

Yeah, well if any yellow snow appears... don't eat it. :headshake

With that shade of pink, her snow REALLY looks like cotton candy. No kidding.

She probably has(had) white carpet too.

She lives in Fargo. She can do anything she wants.

I mean I approve of the pink, of course!
But it doesn't seem very ecologically sound to me.
Painting something that doesn't need painting. And then having painted melt.

Watch out where the huskies go....

Isn't there a homeless shelter she could volunteer at instead of wasting her time and effort on this?

Neat little house. I like the wrap-around porch.

Snow painting seems kind of silly, but I guess she got her picture in the paper.

Famulari is an environmental artist and a landscape architecture professor at North Dakota State University.
Homework? Street creds? The wacky professor?

I feel this way about almost all forms of decorating.

While I think spraying snow a different colour is pretty much a waste of time, I'm pretty sure spending time on the Cellar is - at least compared to volunteering at a homeless shelter.

I played with my cat and read one of the books Dana sent me this afternoon. I spose I should really have been at a soup kitchen.

I wonder what a slice of it will look like?

When we get bored of the white, I let my kids loose with food color/water in spray bottles.

I used to live very close to Fargo. (North of it around the Grand Forks area.) There are no homeless shelters in Fargo. All the homeless ran to a warmer climate where they would not freeze to death. :runaway:

They have Universities in North Dakota? How about that!
DanaC • Jan 7, 2010 5:18 pm
@ Sundae: out of curiosity, which book? :P
