Moderator nomination thread

This is part one of the moderators election. (Part two is the actual vote.)

The term of office for this election is through 1/1/2011, and the number of moderators shall remain unchanged at two.

Nominate people to be voted on in the moderators election. People nominated here will appear in the moderators vote, unless they specifically say they do not accept the nomination.

Joke nominations are discouraged, only because I can't tell whether you are joking or not.

The moderator election is not a popularity contest, and everybody hopes that losers, if there are any, do not feel discouraged about the Cellar. Moderator is a harder job than it appears, if only because people think of you differently if you are a moderator.

Nominations will close at 11:59 pm Eastern time on Jan. 5. If this is longer than appears necessary, it's only to make sure everyone gets a chance to see the thread and participate.

Nominations are open.

Can they have a second term? If so I nominate Bruce, my favoritest mod ever. I also nominate Monster.

Bruce and wolf remain the most level headed among the dwellers. I second a repeat of the pair.

Ditto for wolf and bruce, they've done a great job.

There are many I would be happy with, but Bruce and wolf have done a particularly excellent job this year, so if they're happy to continue, that'll do for me, and if not (and who could blame them if they needed a break), then I'll give it another coat of thinking

I'd vote for Bruce and Wolf. If they will take it.

Heh, great alternates would be glatt and mon, so if they say wolf and Bruce, then there is no way they can't do it!

I know we gotta do this every year, but still thats my opinion.

Bruce and wolf are as incumbent as it ever gets, in my humble opinion. AND they do a fine job. I would, however like to see another mod added to the present company.

Griff would be my choice for the third.....mainly because he rocks and is awake in the early AM. wolf works 3rd, bruce 2nd shift..... so this would make sense.

I also want to nominate glatt and clodfobble.


I'd really like to nominate nomster, just for the allitteration of it, but the whole 'no joke nomination' thing ....meh

I think Dana, Glatt, Griff, Clod, and Monster are among the more levelheaded (read sane) members of the community. Any of them would be a good choice.

Sane? I'm not sure. I've seen the women be kind of mean spirited at times.

I don't think I'd be any good as a mod. I take toomany breaks from the cellar...and I don;t like responsibility so nyah!

I didn't say nominations. I said other level headed dwellers.

People who make good mods are able to appear somewhat neutral or un- inebriated regardless of personal bias,beer/pot consumption or other hormonal swings.

I respectfully decline my earlier nomination in this thread. Too much shit going on to even consider the possibility of extra responsibility in any form. I feel guilty that my DVR recordings have backed up as much as they have, so real obligations are right out.

I apologize for my lack of tact and hope there is no heart feeling. I do think you all rock.

I am a fan of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of thought, and so Wolf and Bruce should stay by dint of their superior performance throughout their first two terms.

It strikes me as remarkable that when this time rolls around it serves as much as anything to remind me of who actually does the moderation around here. Like a good editor, the mark of a good mod is that you notice neither their absence nor their presence.
