When I took a forensic photography course I learned that every square inch of our bodies, including the surface of our bones, has a distinct texture. If you know what you are looking for you can determine what bone a bone fragment as small as 1/8" came from. Same is true for skin.
Yea, I was going to say web of fingers or thumb and first finger, I guess it could be between toes as well.
