My Boss Got Fired

Well, shitty shit shit.

On Monday, the whole faculty of the School of Music got called into a meeting with the president, where we were informed that the Dean of our school had been forcibly resigned for "violating the trust placed in him as a leader and as a faculty member". Nobody knows the details of the situation, but there's a pretty short list of things that get handled this quickly and with such tight lips.

This guy is universally loved by the faculty, the students, and the administration. He's an incredibly adept politician when it comes to academic maneuvering, but he uses it to protect the students and the faculty from administrative interference. He opened up big doorways for the school, and we grew both in numbers and in quality under his leadership.


This just sucks. I love this job, and I can't imagine it staying so perfect under new leadership.

Sounds like the kind of guy that admin bods hate, working for the interests of faculty and - gasp - students. They must have been delighted when they found an excuse to get rid of him. OTOH, he must have done *something* very foolish.

Shit, that's awful.

Reminds me of 1995 when I got fired from MY OWN BAND.
