This is Ansuman Biswas, and he's a hermit.

He wasn't always a hermit. But Shugborough Hall, a stately home in England, wanted to revive the 18th century tradition of having its own hermit. So they asked for applications, and Mr. Biswas won.

The gent is a performance artist, normally living in London and not a hermit, but he wants to remind people of the need for "quiet contemplation" in the modern world.

Speaking as a hermit myself, quiet contemplation is important, but when you take too much time in it you go insane.

"Hello, I'm Hermit THE Frog bringing live news coverage from Shugborough Hall in England where I'm waiting to interview Ansuman Biswas, the local hermit here. Ah there he is!---

"Excuse me, sir, the public would like to know, if you were at a bar and saw a woman you wanted to talk to, --would you demonstrate for us how you would have her come talk to you?

"...Uhm, yeah; OK... I think it's suddenly clear why you've 'chosen' to be a hermit."

That would probably be a pretty cool thing to do. I wonder how long Mr. Biswas is going to remain as a hermit?

hermit
\Her"mit\, n. (Cookery) A spiced molasses cooky, often containing chopped raisins and nuts.

I see the nut, possibly a fruit, but the only thing that looks remotely like molasses might be what he's sitting on.

Not much of a traditional hermit if people are coming out to see him and take his picture.

What kind of employment agency do you go to for these positions? I'd like to get a job as a hermit.

If he's a hermit, why is he talking to a camera ?

Hermits these days....

I would view this as an example of The Media corrupting society... Look at how far they'll go! They're attacking the time-honored lifestyle of hermits.
