There's a lot of ground to cover between "My tree is a 7 foot fir imported from Norway" and "I have a 3 foot fake tree and a pointsetta"!
I've got a 9' pre-lit fake fir with glass ornaments, 18' of poinsettia garland, and a wreath on the door. And I go around telling 3-years there is no Santa. :haha:
Welllll...we got all the decorations down from the attic a week ago and so far only the storage boxes themselves are doing any decorating...my living room floor, that is! My husband and I are putting in so many hours that we both are too tired to even notice them there. So my answer, which isnt in the poll is...maybe.
My wife decorates because she likes to do it. I hate it. I am all bah humbug when it comes to X-mas. I get the boxes down and put up the lights but that is it. She does the rest, the whole freaking house including lights outside on the trees and bushes. I refuse to put up lights on the house. I like looking at what other people put up but I think it is a bit gaudy...
I can't really answer any of the poll options, but I have done ZERO so far this year. I planned on trying to do something this weekend, but life has been complicated as hell lately, so I'm not sure. I'd like to do something. I love the season as most people usually are nicer, but ... <shrug>
PotR and I LOVE decorating for the seasons. Halloween goes up the first of October, Thanksgiving the first of November, and Xmas the first of December. New fairy lights on the hedges and a new polar bear that looks like he's made of ice this year outside. My usual tall skinny "all natural fake" tree in the living room with lighted houses, Pooh xmas stuff, as well as snowmen in every nook and cranny (even the kitchen and bathroom) and P's two foot tree in her room. it's a great reason to redecorate the house!!!

You get 7 points for decoration and minus 10 points for messing with little kids' minds. The grinch gives you minus 3 points. :headshake
I'm generally a bah humbug. I'll put up the (6-foot, fake) tree at some point in the next few weeks, but it's getting delayed as long as possible because the younger kids will just try to destroy it and the older kids won't even be here until the 26th. Right now I'm just trying to muster the energy to shop online so everything can get shipped in time.
My outside lights are mostly up. I wrap a tree and hang icicle lights from the garage roof. And they'll be turned on probably in to Feb. They're winter lights.
I guess I am at -5. Bah. Humbug.
I have a beautiful 24-foot silver pine in the front yard. That's enough. :D

C'mon. I live in the woods at the end of a dirt road that's at the end of a dirt road. Nobody's going to see any decorations I might put up anyway.[/SIZE]
I did nothing, I am waiting to be Christmasy at ma's. This must be making one of my roommates sad, she decorated yesterday with a kitchen towel. We were presented with a red and green snowman kitchen towel. It was a nice gesture. So far, I am pretty happy with the lack of decoration.
There was a box of Christmassy stuff on the table in the mailroom. I snagged a wooden animated thingy of two reindeer and a santa. They go up and down and spin when you turn the little handle on the side.
I put it on top of the television.
When I get around to it, I will extricate the Hippie fiber-optic tree from the storage.
And I need to find a place to hang momwolf's outdoor wreath.
Oh, I did put away the Halloween witch kitchen towels and have put out the one with the Cardinals on it. I crocheted the topper myself.
I got some new C9 lights to do the front fence up .....and a few boxes of spare bulbs...those damn weiner neighbor kids like to nick my bulbs.
I'll probably sling some fairy lights around my desk. I may light a couple of candles. That's about it.
No bow on Pilau's collar? ;)
It is possibe he may end up adorned with tinsel...all depends how drunk/bored I am on Christmas eve.
No wonder the Aussies are confused.
None of the poll items would be true for me.
Normally I don't decorate outside. Mainly because it's cold - kinda goes with winter. I never cared for the idea of taking the stuff down when the temp is below freezing and leaving it up until spring is not an option - My little bit'o OCD would get the best of me and I'd be outside in 20 below weather yaking down strings of lights.
However...
This year I did...
For the last few years I've been eyeballing lighted trees - not the ones that have a string or two that are kind of tossed on them and plugged in. I'm talking about one tree that someone spent 20 hours looping and tieing and stringing these superbright lights on. They put them on in solid strings of reds, greens whites, blues - all bright and they just look gorgeous.
I though I'd try my hand at it so I bought enough strings for 2,000 lights. I painstakingly wrapped them on every major limb on the tree (Crabapple). It tool me about five hours to get all the lights on. I thought... "that wasn't so bad." So I went in the garage and dug around some tubs until I cound some more lights. I spend the next two to three hours stringing them along the edges of the house (I checked each string before I hung it up). Everything was going very well. My wife came out and gave me morale support and even made me some coffee... she spent some time with me while I took a short break. She did have me rearrange a few strings which she thought would be better place "over here" or "over there." I didn't care, I was having too much fun just doing my thing.
I had finish about an hour before sunset. I hadn't turned on the tree lights yet because I wanted to get the full effect of 2,000 lights on that small crabapple tree.
The time came... we went outside and I plugged in the tree. "Damn," I thought. That's not that bright at all. It was actually a little dim. It didn't look bad, but it just wasn't very bright. Then it dawned on me... LED's - I was supposed to use LED lights.
It still looks rather nice. Even my wife thinks so. :)
Here is my decoration.. not much you can do with a 10 day old puppy but it will be easy to take down ;)
