Good grief! That poor child! And investigators have been looking into this same sitter for other child disappearances but so far have done nothing. What a sad commentary on our times.

More dreadful news. I've sworn to myself that I wouldn't read that shit anymore--it does no good and makes me depressed.

Um, maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it seems to me like the baby was only hidden in the box when the investigators showed up. The babysitter had asked for the baby (from the abusive parents who were being routinely investigated by CPS,) and the mother had willingly handed her over. The babysitter seems to have a questionable past as well, but I don't think the baby spent the whole time in the box, I think the babysitter was genuinely caring for her during the time she was there.

Anyone else think the baby looks like the alien image in the bottom of the cellar chat window?:eyebrow:

That baby wasn't in the box. It was in an aluminium/helium baloon, floating free....

Last weeks The Economist front cover (entitled "Falling Fertility rates") showed a baby in free fall - and loving it. Even The Economist cannot be trusted with kids.
