Oct 30, 2009: Fire Survivors

xoxoxoBruce • Oct 30, 2009 12:41 am
When wildfires hit California lots of organizations, and agencies, spring into action. The news is full of actions by Police, Firefighters, Medical Rescue to care for people, and the Humane Societies to care for pets.

Less publicized is the Wild Animal Rescue teams to care for the injured wildlife.

A wildfire in Santa Barbara, California last month helped forge some unlikely bonds. Rescued from the Jesusita Fire, a 3-week old bobcat kitten and 3 day old fawn became fast friends. The animal rescue in California brought predator and prey together. But these babies simply took comfort in each other’s company, snuggling under a desk at a dispatch office for hours.

I don't suppose it would be fair to cook them now.;)

No, of course not. Wait till that fawn get's some meat on her.

Nice debut post, esoteric. :welcome: to the cellar.

I reckon those two animals started the fire to get publicity to kick start their acting careers. This is all aimed straight at disney.

These two are going to take us right back to the psychiatry thread..

They'll both need years of counseling.

Does this mean they'll see unibrow too?

The bobcat is just pretending they are friends until the fawn gets to about a year old. Lends new meaning to the term Fat Cat.

Don't mean kick then in the..... part of the Cellar that isn't our shopwindow?

I opened this cynical, as ever on Fridays. I left it a melting pile of goo.

More felines please.

My sis-in-law says, about her daughters, "they're so cute I just want to punch them in the face." Of course she never would. We laugh about Children's Services investigating, and SIL saying "but LOOK! Don't you just want to punch them?" And CS saying "well, yeah, I see what you're saying."

(no children were punched in the making of this post.)

I think they are aiming for Jon and Kate's old time slot, the fires after all are reality!;)

The lion and the lamb shall lie down together. End of times sign # 237. Poor things, they are awfully cute.

They're behind the times... with digital computer animation, movie-makers don't have to put up with self centered critters, and their agents.:headshake

Its like putting the food on the grill and then realizing you have no propane left.

They are extra cute though.

Next thing you know that cat will be floating away in a balloon (but he'll really be in the attic.)

Well recipes are always good, but TGI Fridays just cuts everything into small pieces, batters and deep fries. I'd be up for something a little more imaginative on this one....

How about proscuitto-style venison for starters, served on flame-grilled seasonal vegetables, followed by bobcat cutlets in a fennel gravy? And I'd like the bobcat-skin mittens in a ladies small.

re: the bobcat. I think there was a feral cat in the woodpile......
