Haven't posted for a while here for travel but Sunday I leave for my westward trip. I will head to Fort Stockton, TX; a big nowhere town along the I-10 heading westward. Then it's on to Socorro NM for 3 days of bird photography at the Bosque Del Apache NWR or maybe a side trip to the big large dish array of antennas that scour the limits of space for signs of life (as seen in the movie, Contact).
Thursday night I meet up with my wife in Albuquerque, who will have spent the week on a project near 4-corners. We will head over to the Taos/Angle Fire area for a day or 2 before our trip back to the muggy Gulf area.
I'll post pictures when ready for your enjoyment.
take care all!:D
Watch out for smugglers and flying saucers. ;)
I shot mostly Sandhill cranes yesterday evening before sunset. They are about 3 feet tall and have a 5 foot wingspan and a beautiful melodic song.
more cranes to finish the day. So beautiful in flight and they actually taste very good (;) to all the celler foodies)
Can't go on a photo safari without my Land Rover!
Beautiful but chilly sunrise this morning. And then the geese woke up and got moving around in search of breakfast!
Geese are pretty funny birds. Very social, they all like to crowd in and the constantly are honking and muttering to each other. These are greater snow geese and the occasional blue goose, which is the same bird but in a different color phase.
Superb pictures... as usual.
But it's Cellar foodies.;)
Do you have a larger version of these posted somewhere? I'd love to have the sunrise as my desktop wallpaper.

Sure... it will only cost you $300! No really, just send me the size you want and I will downsize the RAW file which is about 16MB!
Beautiful pics. Stunning lighting.

Yes, I agree. What is the current popular web saying? My Bad?;)
Beautiful pics. Stunning lighting.
All the great masters of any art medium would agree. Light is the most essential part to make a quality image. I went back this evening but with the approaching cold front it is very grey and a total lack of quality light so I shot a couple hundred images of ducks landing and taking off and called it a day.
Remember to take the high road to Taos! It's pretty! Either way there are lovely views. Think of cicero as you pass the Santa Fe exits! :)
