Hello!

TZ • Sep 28, 2009 4:55 am
Tried to find an introduction thread, but then I didn't which starts my own.

nd thought I should register here, so there I am:3_eyes:

pfffffff it's very late and I'm tired. See you around!
limey • Sep 28, 2009 11:52 am
Well hello there, and Welcome to the Cellar!
morethanpretty • Sep 28, 2009 11:53 am
Late and tired are good excuses. (Plus the fact that there isn't really an active intro thread.)

Hello.
xoxoxoBruce • Sep 28, 2009 11:56 am
We need a TX and a TY, for bridge.
Sundae • Sep 28, 2009 12:04 pm
TZ - I think the reason there is no introduction thread here is because on most sites, only a few people can be arsed to read it. And of the many, many people who sign up, only a few will ever becaome regular contributors. We might not be arsed to read a collection of newbies saying hello, but that doesn't mean we're not friendly.

We're a collection of individuals. We welcome you (individually!) but you will be your own person here. Some people have known eachother for years, some people post every day, some lurk with a low post count, some have a favourite topic. Whatever you want to do.

You're welcome regardless.

PS watch out for the sharks

HEY!!! Just because I eat people doesn't make me a shark!!!!!
Sundae • Sep 28, 2009 12:29 pm
We don't know TZ's gender yet - she might be perfectly safe :yum:
monster • Sep 28, 2009 12:30 pm
What we really need is a "Not exactly an introduction but __________________"

fill in with your choice of

(a) I'm drunk and felt the need to say hi
(b) I'm a troll just seeing how easy it is to get trusted here
(c) I had something I wanted to say but it took me so long to get through all the registration security i forgot what it was so needed to post something to make it worthwhile
(d) I'm a spammer, just wait til I hit post #5.......

REAL introductions include inside leg measurements, the answer to the pepsi/coke and mustard/ketchup questions and a full fronal nudie pic of yourself. :p
Sundae • Sep 28, 2009 12:35 pm
.. and LJ's Quiz.
But I'm still bitter that I never warrranted that. I slipped in as a noob, rather than thrust in.
Undertoad • Sep 28, 2009 12:39 pm
TZ's IP address resolves to the Netherlands, where it was 10:55 AM when it posted.
Sundae • Sep 28, 2009 12:40 pm
10.55 GMT?
Undertoad • Sep 28, 2009 12:56 pm
IMO, NL is plus one from you.
monster • Sep 28, 2009 1:43 pm
OK then add "I'm stoned and feeling the love........." as an option
DanaC • Sep 28, 2009 5:32 pm
@ Toad: not to be picky or anything, but shouldn't that be information that tz chooses to divulge, or not, to the rest of the board ?:P

Welcome to the Cellar, TZ. Nice to meet you:)
Clodfobble • Sep 28, 2009 5:46 pm
The point is TZ claimed it was "very late" when he posted. His Netherland location (and/or proxy) would indicate he is lying, a spammer, or both.
glatt • Sep 28, 2009 5:46 pm
I for one, am grateful to be told when a new poster is a blatant liar. No point wasting energy on a spammer.

Edit: Clod beat me to the post, and was more tactful about it too.
DanaC • Sep 28, 2009 6:04 pm
OR, he's been up all night and from his perspective it's late.

Or, it's late in the morning and reading through and signing up has taken longer than he'd anticipated.
Shawnee123 • Sep 28, 2009 6:57 pm
Maybe "late" is the new "mid-morning."

You know those European countries get in on all the current fashions before we do.
Elspode • Sep 28, 2009 7:01 pm
Lumberjim...paging Lumberjim. Newbie quiz on Aisle Five, please.
ZenGum • Sep 28, 2009 7:22 pm
Maybe 11am IS late in the Netherlands. It all depends on your lifestyle!

I say, give TZ a chance. We know how to deal with spammers around these here parts.
lumberjim • Sep 28, 2009 7:51 pm
The proxies the PeeDee ers were using to get into chat last night were from Germany and Amsterdam. This is one of Roger's sycophants, I assure you.
Elspode • Sep 28, 2009 8:03 pm
So make it a really tough quiz?
Griff • Sep 28, 2009 8:05 pm
Yeah, catch him on the catsup thing.
classicman • Sep 28, 2009 8:57 pm
and don't forget the protractor ;)

DanaC: voted most likely to marry a serial killer on death row.
monster • Sep 28, 2009 11:22 pm
*snort*
Sundae • Sep 30, 2009 5:54 am
I concur, a serial killer on Death Row would suit Dani.
She wouldn't have to clean her house in case he dropped in.
Pilau could still share her bed.
She could work on his appeals and bestir herself righteously.

Ah, hang on. I'm assuming he's guilty. It would be horrid as hell if he was innocent. It would break her heart.

Okay, I've talked myself out of it. DANA - don't open any post from America! Especially not if there are kisses on the envelope!

Phew, heartache averted.
DanaC • Sep 30, 2009 7:45 am
I don't bestir myself much if it involves actual work...

:P
Shawnee123 • Sep 30, 2009 8:37 am
lmao @ bestir!

:)

I was merely pointing out that him saying he posted 'late' and his IP showing that it would have been late morning for him not late night does not in and of itself prove someone is a troll.

The rest of the information about proxies does suggest it. But the fact that someone posted from the netherlands and used the word 'late' doesn't. Nor did I say he wasn't a troll. Just suggested some alternate reasons for his use of 'late'. In the absence of any other evidence (the proxies used by PD) it was a leap. That's all.

No, it's not proof that he was a troll, but it's proof that he was being deceptive.
TheDaVinciChode • Sep 30, 2009 11:18 am
Perhaps "late," in this case, meant he had been up all night, and was tired?

Not all of us are regular, morning-loving folk. Some of us are night owls. ;)

(However, the fact that he's yet to make another post... well, that says a lot!)

Absolutely.

Not at all, suspicions raised, upon analyzing from you're point of view, are suspicions, not proof. As chode said, some of us live different schedules. I'd expound but I just got up, and it's too early to get into it. ;)
