More than 500 Sailors and Marines assemble on the flight deck of the USS Belleau Wood Friday Sept. 6, 2002 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States by spelling out the now famous quote from Mr. Todd Beamer, Lets Roll. Beamer was one of the heroic passengers on United Flight 93, which crashed in a western Pennsylvania field after he and several other passengers attempted to regain control of the plane from terrorist hijackers.

The really sad things the 'foundation' named after this guy is trying to patent the phrase.

what is that lettering made of?

... isn't the US in some kind of Orange Alert right now?.. ... what if there is an 'orange emergency' ... ... will they have to sweep all those bricks/donuts/65mm shells/cardboard boxes off of the deck, to launch the jets? ...... ... ;)

.... bah... nm... I just re-read the damn caption. They're sailors.. .... with brown hats on...

And now, "Let's Roll" is cut in stone in a Pennsylvania field.
