We be hatin'

The Southern Poverty Law Center counted 926 active hate groups in the United States in 2008. Only organizations and their chapters known to be active during 2008 are included.

Interactive map.

PA, with 37, beat out Al(36), MS(22), NC(30), and LA(22)... yay us.

But lost out to NJ(40), GA(40), FL(56) and Texas with 66... darn.

Yay, we've got kooks!
Can't we all just get along? seriously

Pretty wild. Just looking at the size of the state NJ is in the running for more per square mile than others.

I want to see these broken down on a per-capita basis. It's not fair that California gets to win just because they've got so many more people. We hate way more than those kumbaya-liberal-ass-pansies do.

Apparently angry white people like to organize.

Take a look at NJ, looks like it goes both ways.

Now look, it's "Don't ask, don't tell".

New Jersey has more nuclear waste sites than California, and California has more lawyers.
Why?
New Jersey had first choice.

Back when I lived there we use to joke that it had two well know distinctions, one was that it had more superfund sites than any other state in the US and the other was that it was known as the Garden State... :) They just never admitted what they had been planting.
Crimson Ghost • Aug 19, 2009 2:50 am
Now, I'm not saying what was planted, but we do have a lot of missing people...

There is an obvious connection to be made here with the thread about whether Southern Culture is more prone to violence. http://cellar.org/showthread.php?t=20848

On a per capita basis, as Clod quite rightly asks, who has more hate groups?

And also, who has the more love groups, baby? :grouphug: :doit:
Sundae • Aug 19, 2009 9:33 am
But...

why do they hate Americans?
ZenGum • Aug 19, 2009 9:06 pm
Oh that's just jealousy becaue the Yanks worked hard and got rich, and they didn't.
