9/7/2002: Car pool

Tow truck operator Brock Warner (center) listens to Lynne Schroeder explain how a neighbor's car wound up in her pool in Dallastown, Pa.

The neighbor, Lisa Lehigh, was backing into her driveway when the brakes failed - so she says. The car rolled down a small hill, crashed through a wooden fence, and into the pool.

The Schroeders weren't home, but another neighbor heard the crash and came over and was able to help get the kids out of the car. Apparently she just opened the rear door there, and pulled them out. Lehigh herself was still stuck, but wasn't under water - she just had to figure out how to untangle herself, which took her five minutes.

I liked Nic's Quality Image better... as long as we're on a theme

UT's image is to car pool as NBN's image is to cruise control.

Ahh yes I saw the car vs. boat one.

I think that the carboat was from not setting the parking brake.

I think I see a standard stick shift in there but no brake pulled up.

Anyone agree with this theory?

Perhaps it's just aliens. (as usual)

If ti just rolled wouldn't it have just gone in? It hasn't dropped far so it must have got some decent speed up.

That's what I wondered, but it seems like there woulda been more damage.

Prolly the boat was closer at first, and when the car hit it pushed it farther out.
