Original Poems

Here's a couple I wrote a while ago.

A Rose

When a flower blooms
it seldom recognizes
the symptoms
of its own doom.
The petals wilt
as time goes on,
and withered cracks appear
on the pristine velvet
of the dying beauty.
The pity is that time can’t heal
The loss
Of one
As
Beautiful
As you…

RAINS

It was dirty, dry and dreary
as the sun beat hotly down,
The shimmers we saw clearly
as they wavered from the ground.

The rains they hadn’t come
as was wont to happen often,
but the clouds now brought the thrum,
of the heat’s end, like a coffin.

The skies did crash and break,
like the burst of dawns first light,
and so the ground did take,
the kiss of rains delight.

The rivers banks did burst,
a bubbling boiling mass,
and the waters brought their curse
into the deserts great morass.

They rushed along regardless
of the terror they brought forth,
as they ran into the yardless
plains, until they lost their force.

The rivers did subside
and life went on and weary,
but rains will come again
to the dirty, dry and dreary.

How funny - here's my rose poem:

A Rose
Blossoming so unsure
Withering at length to nothing
With beauty in between

I wrote this last night for my friend with BC who got chemo today (the last dose of AC) because Hallmark was found lacking... ;)

Here’s hoping when they’re groping,
They’ll find a lump reduction
Here’s wishing when they’re fishing
Veins will need no seduction

May all your blood tests come out right
And may your pee be nice and bright
But most of all on this chemo day
I just wanted to drop a note to say

Ah, Fuck cancer ;)

Awesome. All of them are awesome.

Here is a poem I acquired from an English teacher

Oranges
Door hinges

Oranges poranges, who says,
oranges poranges, who says,
oranges poranges, who says?
there ain't no rhyme for oranges!

Thanks Dana. I know it wont win any prizes, but it means a lot to me.

Alright, I dont usually post these anywhere other than Myspace, but I figured there are alot of my friends who like them, so maybe some of you will also.
When I write, I usually have a melody in my head, and they are written in form of a song. They come fairly easy since the music helps dictate the lyrics. Here are a couple. And if anyone is interested, I can post more.

Take Away

I'm not the only one who is broken,
But I am the only one to blame.
Sheaded fears like a distant memory
Reclaim their place within my mind.
Soaring like the eagles was too hard to control
And in selfishness I lost my soul.
I dreamed the only dream I was made of,
It took me higher then before.
To reach the mountains and touch the clouds
I breathed the air of some place else.
Can I watch the setting sun lay down
Before it crashes into the sea?
More distant then an echo
More haunting then a cry,
I turn to go run and hide.
The soft embrace of someone that I love
The chilling wayward smile that calls.
To walk the wonders and seach a lifetime
For things which are impossible to find.
If I stay here only one last time.
Will you wait for when I am done and tired?
Could this be whats left from all the years?
One last look of immortality.
My heart sings, "Can you take this pain away?"
My life brings hope and meaning through the days
This time, I will forget most everything
If you could take the pain away.
Laying down in an endless field
The wind sofy kisses my face
The skys above me, the earth below me
Know not how I fell.
The silver lining on the clouds
Are just a glimpse into the rageing storm
The lantern holds bright within this endless night
The city silence is its vow.
Can I hold you for this last goodbye?
Until the twilight is our shoud.
The echos of the childerns cries
Shouldnt be on muted ears.
I love you, could you take this pain away?
I found you, could you take me to a better place?
I want you, will you be my memory?
I cant do, anything without you
For all I've done and all I tried,
For all I've lost, I can confide
For what I want and who I am
For where I finish and begin
Tell me now one last time
Take my fears and take my pain
Take these regrets and this shame
Take this sorrow I dont want it now
Take this time and stay with me
Take my heart and my missery
Take this world I use to love
Take it now with all you can
To take it, to want it to love it to feel it, to hold me there one last time.

Breathe Again

Through these days of steel
My walk thorugh life surreal
I come together,
As the only one
Chard from burning days
The sun's yellow rays
Blind my eyes
from the path I take.

And Im still trying
To take this path
But im still laying
On the one before

Now that we are here

Into unknown I know
Is the only no
Which surpassed me
At the top of my climb
Went up to breathe the air
With a glimce so rare
Painted portrait
On a canvas sky

Dreams from all ages
Lost in time
and their haunting
past defined

Broken bottles wash up on the sand
Communicating passing judgement
Allocating what is left
And when the final wave
Has gone and washed away
I will not be the one
who's left there on the shore

From last hope I hang
My thoughts boomerang
and bring me back
To their starting point.
Gone from here again
Cant see if it will begin
As Im waiting,
For just one touch

And Im trying,
To breathe again
As they're failing
To see what a loss.
DanaC • Aug 23, 2009 7:02 pm
Oh I liked them. They're strange and haunting.

I particularly liked this:

And Im still trying
To take this path
But im still laying
On the one before

Weep not for me, I deserve no countenance
My petrified heart is the overture to the requiem
For the hearts I have shattered
Its stony beat
A lighthouse for those still to come.
Steer clear.

Count my tears by the streaks on my countenance,
redeem my heart with petrified overtures.
The stones my heart has shattered
steer clear of my lighthouse, and its stony beat.

You, too, should fear my love

If you encountered me in the park and peered into my baby carriage, would you be as fast to apply whorish eye make-up to my baby with a cleft lip, to make her more pleasing to your eye?

Why must there be a "spark" that animates me?
Because legions of seekers throughout time believed,
There must be a puppeteer, a glowing ember, to steer this machine?

I can love a Lamborghini, for what it achieves,
Why can’t I give the same respect to me?

It is but sleep.
To end.
To rest.

At first pressure a point finely grain
A pin prick
A thrust
A dark red ribbon.

Life never looks like the movies. Not a beaming paint like sanguine , but warm and dark

Everywhere , everywhere nothing left untouched by this crimson brander

My teeth feel funny,
My head is light

I'm cold

NO
STOP
I just want to be warm again ... it has been cold for so long now

I can't get up, I can't move,

the pain has stopped
darkness takes its place

The last act

My attempts at being poetic :)

A Friend Lost
Often on some days I miss you……..la la, la la, la la, la
And then I open my eyes tad so wide……
Taking the world in a single stride…..
To see you through to only smile….

And when it rains pure so hard……. la la, la la, la la, la
I sit on the canopy of mighty strange trees….
Laughed upon my folly by the only bees….
Thinking about you like a singing geese…..

When it comes to the primitive rivers….. la la, la la, la la, la
I never try to walk on the bridges…..
Allowing wind to puff strange in the ridges….
Owing to you who puts the many stitches....

Often on some nights I miss you……. la la, la la, la la, la
And then I open my eyes to the silver moon….
Caring none about world always so loon….
To see you through not gone so soon….

-------------------------------------------------------------
And another one (as if the first one was not enough!) :D

Spring Dreams
dreams do come true...
in the little ways,
like humming tunes astray,
in the nights and the days;

when you see them…
you try to chase things,
fluttering your small wings,
for happy heart to sing;

in the lost childhood,
feeling rain's like mother,
in arms of your brother,
or crying for each other;

swimming like a whale,
among the sea weeds,
or the fields green,
thinking of birth seeds;

when the heart beats,
holding a friend’s hand,
fighting for lost stand,
in every breath's strand;

dreams do come true...
in the little ways,
like humming tunes astray,
in the nights and the days.

Anger
I feel it bubbling
Troubled
Rumbling
Somewhere under
Carmel colored fizz
And red licorice film
How did such a small puddle become so dark and insurmountable?

Leave me here in Limbo-land
To prove you have the upper hand
Another Day Another Week
Doesn't matter, I'm not meek

Keep me here on String-Along
To show me I was oh so wrong
A few more days will make it true
That I am so much less than you

The secret to the Hanging-on
Is I ain't as weak as you are strong
And spare me all the changing rules
You only follow when you choose

Please release me, let me go?
'Cause I don't love you anymo'?
The words are true but you won't know
Just stop the crap, and let me go.

Throw it in the sea...

A Night At Buddy's House

Well, me and my buddy and his step-nephew Josh
Are sitting over at my buddy's house
Smoking dope and playing video games

Raising hell at high speed in heavy traffic
And getting a helluva buzz while we're at it
Are pretty much our primary aims

That's why I'm sitting here head a-reeling
Josh on the X-Box really wheeling
And my buddy in the recliner telling him where to go

Well, Josh's driving is really outta my class
So home is where I'm taking my ass
I'm at the bottom of my glass

And that's all that I really need to know

I'm very Thankful
Haikus only have three lines
Can I get drunk now? (family version: pass the pumpkin pie)

My heart is bleeding out
so why not my blood?
Would anyone notice
just because it's red?
I walk all around
no one sees me
taken for granted
I give give give
giving the wrong things
I know that because
they're not giving to me
at least not what I want

Can't do anything yet
wish I was a macho man
fuck them, I'm right, I'm the best
their fucking fault, fuck them
but I'm not
I know deep down
it's my fault
I don't know what to do

I want better
I don't want to hurt
I don't want to hurt them
I don't want to lose them
stuck

Suddenly Friday
Is a fate not a goal
Now time has become finite
I want to press hold
Stretch out the week,
stretch each day, stretch each blink
I have more to do
So much more to fit in

That's, like, sort of what I learned, but not really. It was:

Itty-bitty watten-totten bo-bo skee watten-totten
Bo-bo, skee watten-totten boom

~Gravdigr

She thanked him and flirted
With the UPS guy
Then she took the package
And she hurried back inside
She was so happy...
A new toy had arrived!
When she opened the box
She got such a surprise
She gasped at its length, its width
Its heft, its sheer size
Pink, and double-headed
It was bigger than most guys
She was still,having trouble
Believing her eyes
With toy in hand
"To the bedroom!" she cried
The room was soon filled
With her moans and her sighs
As she writhed in bed
With her new toy between her thighs...

...And the bear watched it all
Through brown button eyes.[/CENTER]

What shallow pools we swim in
When we need only to stand
And walk away
but the water feels so good
In the heat of the sun
Until it turns too cold to swim in
And we drown
lumberjim • Nov 13, 2018 7:40 pm
Face down we drown

Like a fruity ass clown

In 4 cold inches of water

That's tinted kind of brown
