Walter Cronkite, 1916-2009, at 92 years of age.

He was a fixture at our house for many years.

I remember the night his sidekick Eric Sevareid propounded Sevareid's Law, with application to politics: The chief cause of problems is solutions.

Well poo. Yes, Walter was the man, a class act. RIP Mr Cronkite.

I was only a kid when he was on, but I watched him and I liked him. I was sad when Dan Rather took over. Cronkite was like a member of the family, or something.

yeppers, he was one of kind. True journalists like him are a dying (dead?) breed. RIP Walter. :(

To bad Dan will never reach the icon status Walt has. Anyway, RIP. He was a fixture in my life as a broadcaster.
