How are you amusing yourself today?

Cloud • Jul 17, 2009 6:52 pm
I've been playing Flickr slideshows on my second monitor at work. Really pretty cool. I've tried: cat, bird, glass, ethnic costume, festival, El Paso, and fishing.

It's really amazing the things people capture (or manip) onto film.

I'm also amusing myself by pretending I'm rich. But that's most days :p

Hmm...well...went and watched friend graduate and then helped said friend celebrate:P

I have also downloaded a bunch of recently missed tv progs on the BBCIplayer...and am about to watch one of them:)

I am also amusing myself by thinking about Doctor Who. But that's most days :P

Today I have been working catching up with what i didn't do yesterday because I was amusing myself with Monty Python on Youtube and updating the sprogs' swim times record.
smoothmoniker • Jul 17, 2009 7:44 pm
It's 105 here today, so we've been doing this:

It's in the high seventies F in our beachy community, which is quite a break from the triple digits inland. I'm keeping myself amused in the mental exercise of a good fulmination over in Politics.
Cloud • Jul 20, 2009 12:24 pm
friend of mine went parasailing over the weekend. Hard to top that.
Tulip • Jul 21, 2009 12:52 am
I am here right now. :D
DucksNuts • Jul 21, 2009 4:48 am
I'm off sick today, so I have been sleeping and resting.

I still feel like shit and now I'm stressed about the amount of work that will have piled up.
Shawnee123 • Jul 21, 2009 8:42 am
I feel your pain, Ducks. I was sick last Monday and Tuesday...Collision Boy hit me on the way in Wednesday.

Eh, the work will still be there. Get well: don't stress!

Oh...this person's out of the office and that person's out of the office. It's moving forward but slowly. With the ten days they estimated for repairs to take, plus how long it takes before it finally gets started...it's going to be a long hassle. That poor old green car is being a trooper, but it ain't happy making that drive again.

I am amusing myself today by being a complete vegetable. I seem to just not care about *anything* today. Not in a good way. I've got a cold, but it's worse than that kind of not give a fuck.

I'd worry about it, but I just don't give a fuck.
Cloud • Aug 11, 2009 11:43 am
by eating.

not good.
Sheldonrs • Aug 11, 2009 1:35 pm

Sheldonrs • Aug 11, 2009 2:26 pm
Do you REALLY want my thumb in this when you KNOW where I usually keep it?

Yes you are Shawnee. Thank you.

I am amusing myself by:
a) pretending my shoulder doesn't hurt
b) pretending that I don't care that poor environmental controls have caused our PBX to upchuck and die
Pie • Aug 11, 2009 6:32 pm
Saying (in my best Eric Cartman voice) "Screw you guys, I'm going home!" to my cow-orkers.

It's really gotta suck (or is that blow?) to die while upchucking.
Aliantha • Aug 11, 2009 6:38 pm
Els...I hope you're feeling better today. I've been thinking about you. :)

Today, I have mostly been sweating and watching really trashy TV.
Oh and looking after Grandad.

He called before I was up & dressed - he cut himself shaving and it wouldn't stop bleeding.
I had to go round, staunch the flow, clean up the kitchen, bathroom and living room of blood spots, change his shirt, then go buy him lunch (which was always planned) and plasters. All the while soothing him that it was indeed a terrible thing to happen to him, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle.

Then I had a visit from my CPM this afternoon.

So you know what? If I decided to watch The Hills from 14.00 to see skinny LA girls who create their own drama, I think I can be excused.

ETA - Grandad is fine. Paper thin skin does bleed & bleed, but it was more fright then anything and I was glad to be able to help. Checked on him three times - the last time after his carer had put him into his pyjamas.

When Max wakes up from his morning nap, we're going to go and get him one of those boomerang shaped pillows. He's almost ready to start sitting up now, so best to be prepared really.
Nirvana • Aug 11, 2009 7:09 pm
I went to a steer show. Our steer won Yay!:D
Aliantha • Aug 11, 2009 7:16 pm
Mmmmm...beef...mmmmMM
TheMercenary • Aug 11, 2009 7:21 pm
STEAK! YUMMM.
Aliantha • Aug 11, 2009 7:23 pm
Actually, speaking of beef steak, I had the best rib on the bone steak at the pub last night for dinner. It was sensational. Perfectly cooked and tender...juicy...tasty...delicious. :)

I think when you start a new thread you are actually suppose to start a new thread. So there you have it. :)

I am amusing myself by wishing prolific posters could spell, or at least make a fair attempt at something close to the English language. Some posts make my eyeballs hurt.

skysidhe • Aug 16, 2009 10:57 am
I bought a brain games book that is suppose to reduce my brain age.
Shawnee123 • Aug 16, 2009 11:10 am
I'd get one of those books but I'm afraid to go much lower than the 12 years old I already act. haggis!
skysidhe • Aug 21, 2009 5:10 pm
That's right 123. They are for people like me who have rusty hinges not for people who can already think on their feet.

Actually I am wondering if impulse control has something to do with how old someone acts. Maybe I need inhibition lessons instead.

There's just two things for that though. Tickling and...oh hot steamy ....... umm canning corn.
