Interesting. The fiords there are very deep. I imagine a tsunami would just be a minor low wave in deep water like that. But I wonder.

Most Kiwi's don't have too far to go to reach higher ground. I'm glad it was unneccessary though. That area isn't highly populated either which is another plus.

Yes, until it reaches the end of the bay/fiord and climbs hundreds of feet up the hill/mountain, like the 1964 Good Friday Quake in Alaska.

We had one Kiwi poster - el Bandito, I think - but he posted about serious chest pains and we made him go to the doctor, and we haven't heard back. :neutral:

There was a tsunami alert for South eastern Australia but it has been cancelled.
