Commercials with actors you'd like to nail

BigV • Jun 17, 2009 5:13 pm
With credit to SteveDallas and glatt, I introduce this thread they suggested.

There have been a number of commercials with actors I find very attractive. That's the point, isn't it? Get you all heated up with positive feelings (about whatever) but have you transfer that goodwill to the product? Um, yeah. I've seen a few, but this one sticks in my mind--years after it ran on tv.

I'm a Levi's fan *for life* now.

Interesting synchronicity. Just Monday I was watching LadyHawke.

Oh I love that film! *laughs* I was totally gaga for the Hauer back then. I think I've seen that film so many times I could probably lip sync the whole damn thing:P

Phillipe: We have come full circle, Lord. I would like to think there is some higher meaning in this. It certainly would reflect well on You.

Did you ever see this one? He was pretty yummy in it, but the movie itself is...well...not great.

Oh My God. A hauer film I havent seen! (not counting some of the arthouse non-english language stuff which I never got hold of...come to think of it...I live in a digital age now...I feel a hauer sess coming on!)

Is there a better Hauer movie than this one?

That scene sends shivers down my spine. Even just looking at the picture.

Do not be fooled by the presence of Jennifer Jason Leigh...Hauer = delicious...movie = abysmal failure.
DanaC • Jun 17, 2009 10:16 pm
I can cope with an abysmal failure of a movie if it has hauer's hawtness in it:)

I have indeed coped with several lol

I think the guy in the "freecreditreport.com" commercials is a cutie-pie. Stupid company, and stupid anyone who falls for the scam, but I like the ads. :D
Shawnee123 • Jun 18, 2009 4:16 pm
Oh me too. The first one in that car I was like "oh how cute is that fella?"
kerosene • Jun 18, 2009 4:29 pm
He's cute...especially with that little smirky look he gets at the end of the song. He really reminds me of the kind of guys I dated when I was young. I srsly think he went to the ren fest for fun...not just because he has bad credit. He's that type, isn't he? Also, my husband thinks his wife is hot...even with the bad credit.
Shawnee123 • Jun 18, 2009 4:35 pm
Yeah, I love the one in the basement...sooo funny! :)
classicman • Jun 18, 2009 10:54 pm
I get a free credit report from them every 4 months - one from each company. Whats the scam Juni? I've been doing it for free for 3-4 years.
Juniper • Jun 18, 2009 11:24 pm
Maybe you're confusing it with annualcreditreport.com -- indeed, that is free; just choose one company for a report every 4 months then repeat annually.

Freecreditreport.com makes you subscribe to their service; $14.95/month, automatically charged unless you call to cancel. And if they're anything like the one I fell for several years ago, good luck getting through.

But I guess it's not really a scam, technically; they're up front about it and do provide this "credit monitoring" service for that fee. It's just that it hits me the wrong way, them advertising something that's "free" and when you go to the site, it turns out that to get a FREE report, they refer you to the other site I mentioned. They don't offer anything actually free.
classicman • Jun 18, 2009 11:31 pm
They try to sell you some protection or something, but I never opt for it.
