I like glatt.

Flint • Apr 7, 2009 11:23 am
He always puts some thought into things and has an interesting angle, and I often think that his comments/opinions are something like what I would have said. He's friendly and engaging, he isn't over-sensitive, and he remembers the good inside jokes.

I always click on new comments by glatt regardless of whether I'm following the thread. I also do this for Clodfobble, Happy Monkey, and Undertoad, for similar reasons. Surely for others I can't think of at this moment, as well.

I can't think of anything I don't like about glatt, and that isn't due to a lack of his speaking up on things. He's just an all-around good guy.

Feel free to add your own positive comments about people:

I've always enjoyed xobruce's contributions. He consistently brings level headed thoughts and defuses controversial subjects with quick, short wit.
glatt • Apr 7, 2009 12:00 pm
hey, thanks Flint.

I like you too, and not just because of this flattery. You often have a refreshing viewpoint and your posts are usually funny and outrageous. Often you go off on some crazy tangent that I would never even think of. And it's usually pretty good. Even when I think you are off in left field, I get a kick out of your posts. I remember when you fist galloped through town, tearing the place up. I wasn't sure about you then, but I'm glad you stuck around.

I always read every post by Clodfobble and Happy Monkey and can't argue with anything either of them have ever said. They seem to always make only valid points. But are nice about it. You don't hate them because they are always right. I like most people here, and value their posts.
lookout123 • Apr 7, 2009 12:05 pm
I always read everything by Happy Monkey even though I know I'll never agree with any of it. While his views are 180 degrees from mine he is intelligent and thoughtful in his reasons for his views and it is always good food for thought.

Clodfobble I always read because she is rarely posts pointless "me too" comments and there is always something important in her posts.

Flint I always read if I see him in a political or current event thread because he usually presents a logical point but with a left field approach.

Impress in the WTF? threads... just cuz.

Pico and ME • Apr 7, 2009 12:15 pm
I read everybody for the most part, but I do have my favorites. SG, because her posts are always so warm and inviting and she can tell a really good story. Hung Like Jesus, because his Steven Wright type humor always makes me lol. Monster, because I like her radical yet really approachable style. Dana, because her 'socialist' agenda is based on a very real and human agenda.

Damn, I have more but no more time right now.
Undertoad • Apr 7, 2009 12:48 pm
I like LJ's depiction of glatt in the collage. This is a combination of glatt's natural good looks and LJ's awesome collage idea.

I agree with glatt about flint.

lumberjim • Apr 7, 2009 1:16 pm
Ironically, as I was viewing Glatt's profile, I noticed that he happens to be a member of the group 'Flint Haters'

Isn't that a fine how do ya do?

He also used to be a bed-wetter.

I like Elspode. Many things about his life are about as far as you could get from my personal experiences, yet I can always relate to his posts. And there's usually something I can learn from within them.

I like Shel, 'cause he cracks me up.

I like what I call the "step up" factor in teh Cellar.

That's when a poster steps up and makes an incredible post in a topic that I wasn't necessarily expecting.

What I like about it is that nearly every one of the regulars and some of the not so regulars scores a "step up" post every so often. I like this a whole lot better than a handfull of prectictable "I know everything and feel obliged to provide an all-encompassing and concluding answer to every thread" posters and a hoard of "I just post to jack my thread count" posters.

The diversity of expertise and insight around here is uncommon in internet forums. Very uncommon.

Matter of fact, we could start our own University.

I always click on wolf, els, clod, dana, cherry, flint, foot, monster, beestie, UT, .... man, there are a lot of them...these are people i follow whether I'm following the thread or not. Of course, the most polticially correct thing to say is, "I LIKE EVERYBODY!" even though it's not true.

I don't dislike TW but I can't follow, so don't read, his posts. Same for other people - not that I dislike them, just can't be arsed to give them time.

NO...

seriously...in this ass-kissing thread, hers is the one that occurs to me to praise. both literally and figuratively.

forget my bias....she's very concise and witty, always puts relevant links and quotes in her posts, never talks shit about things she doesn't know(like I do), never flames needlessly, can be serious cat or happy fun time poster, participates in the fun stuff, and is usually positive.

I rely on her commentary of the threads I never read, and trust her opinion implicitly.

AND! I didn't lose any arguments with her....I know better than to argue.

Well, I like Wolf. Her posts are witty and picturesque. She's tough and I admire her. And of course, Elspode, mainly because he's such a flirt.

There's lots of others too, but I haven't got all day here. :p

This line doesn't make any sense. Actually what he does is states an opinion I share in a coherent way that I'm not capable of. Same thing many of you people do. I'm not good at saying what I mean.
Cicero • Apr 7, 2009 10:36 pm
I heart glatt.
Trilby • Apr 7, 2009 11:38 pm
Dana and Cherry and Shawnee are always saying, in an elegant, succinct and witty way, exactly what I mean. Clodfobble does this, too, as does monster. There are many others and I hate leaving people out. I learn from everyone, though, and that's why I am here.

The sheer amount of good vibes and support here is truly the miracle for me. On the whole, the cellar is a group of extremely intelligent and compassionate people. I feel lucky to be here.

And Flint is just crazy. :)

:ghost: posts are the kewlest. You can just put what ever you want in there. For example, I imagined Shawnee posting, "Oh, go fuck yourselves!" in that post. It's very liberating. More people should do them. It's a community service and cathartic.
Shawnee123 • Apr 8, 2009 8:38 am
It was my avant-garde commentary on the thread, like all popularity threads: a few people feel really good and a few more people feel really bad.

I mean come on, who doesn't like glatt? ;) Also, I am one who will tell people as I go along what they mean to me.

Having said that, I will say I have a lot of admiration for Dana. I think she's funny, level-headed, intelligent, and compassionate.

So there.

Haha, just noticed the tag for the thread.

Wolf and Clod amaze me with their strength, insight, and consistent sense of humor depite their current foibles.
I want to marry Lookout or BigV in my next life (or both) because they seem to be pretty close to the male versions of me, just better informed on current events, which I envy as I am lazy in that arena. Or maybe I just don't care as much as I should?
Sheldon, Brianna and SG always make me smile, even if they're bitching.
Ibram makes me wish I still had that youthful optimism.
And LJ and UT amaze me with their patience with all of the bratty kids they babysit in here. Including me. Thanks guys.

I have dozens, sitting in a closet I have converted into a shrine, floating in jars of formaldehyde. They are neatly placed and catalogued, and cross-referenced by: WHAT did they do to piss me off? HOW did I extract said balls from said jerk? Small balls, big balls, purple ones, hairy ones etc. It's an elaborate system I devised. Sometimes I sit in my chair and stare at them, and laugh and laugh.

Wanna come over and see them?
