15 beers?! I feel like crap after THREE. How is this guy even alive?
Shawnee123 • Mar 31, 2009 7:55 pm
He's from Ohio. 15 beers is just a drop in the bucket in these parts. ;)
Tiki • Mar 31, 2009 8:13 pm
Hahaha my family's from Ohio on my dad's side, and indeed, at the last family reunion those guys were DRUNK. I must have found a dozen empty gin bottles hidden in my garage, and then there was a father-daughter fistfight on my patio.

Not even kidding.
Shawnee123 • Mar 31, 2009 8:14 pm
lmao!
TheMercenary • Mar 31, 2009 8:15 pm
15 beers is just getting started down in these parts. I get full after 3.
DanaC • Mar 31, 2009 8:16 pm
Anyone got a link to the pants shitting thread?
Bullitt • Mar 31, 2009 8:53 pm
15 is definitely doable, I stick to ~8 if I don't have to drive anywhere, throw an Irish car bomb or two in there if I'm really in the mood. Good ol Ohio, land of the drive-through beer and chips extensions off gas stations.

They use to have drive through liquor stores in Texas, that is the first place I ever saw them. Then When my wife and I were on our honeymoon in the early 80's we saw them in the Fl. Keys. I haven't seen one since.

Hell, there is at least one here in town Merc. I believe there may be two.

I can't drink more than a couple either. It takes me about an hour to drink one. I can drink more than two in one day, if I drink one earlier in the day, and then have a couple more at night. But I rarely do that. I haven't been drinking much of anything lately.

: waves Aussie Flag :

DAVID BOON

David Boon was a cricket player who was on the tour to England in 1989. The flight is direct from Sydney to London, takes about 24 hours, and Boonie managed to beat the previous record (I think held by Doug Walters) by drinking FIFTY-TWO cans of beer on the flight.

I struggle to sink three. I am a wuss.

Fifty bloody two. holy crap.

Still have those drive-thru beer barns. "Beer barn" is the proper term.
richlevy • Mar 31, 2009 10:02 pm
I read about a guy a few years ago with a suspended license who got a DUI on a riding mower, but the barstool has him beat.
SteveDallas • Mar 31, 2009 10:30 pm
I think I've drunk the alcohol equivalent to 15 beers--once or maybe twice. But I just couldn't handle it in beer form just because of sheer volume. It's just too much liquid.

In Italy they have bars in petrol stations...
Trilby • Apr 1, 2009 4:46 am
what? fifteen beers but no shots?

Pansy.
capnhowdy • Apr 1, 2009 7:56 am
If you want to get that drunk, why drink beer? Cut to the chase and get a jug of whiskey.

Drinking beer to get high is like taking a shower with an eyedropper.

"15 beers" can be anything between 3 litres (in Cologne) and 15 litres (Oktoberfest) , depending on where in the world you are. - So, is it 15 cans of 0,33 litres each or 0,5 or pints or ....?

Just wondering.
Shawnee123 • Apr 1, 2009 9:57 am
Ahem. 12 ounces. ;)

This is what I was thinking of. Not just a drive up window.

I've had 10 beers in the course of an all-day canoeing trip; somehow being out in the sun all day makes it go down easier. :) Can't say I was much help with paddling in the last couple hours though ;)

Yeah, I'm an Ohio girl. :D

Exactly, we need empirical data!

Ahem. 12 ounces. ;)

12 US fluid ounces = 0.354 L

15 US 'beers' = ~ 9.5 UK pints

All day is different, especially in the summer... I've had those long slow summer days where I'm either gardening or just porch-sitting with my guy, drinking beer after beer. If you start at lunchtime, you can easily spread it out over ten hours... I doubt I could do ten beers in ten hours, but I've downed a sixpack before!
glatt • Apr 1, 2009 12:57 pm
Reminds me of Paul Newman day.
jinx • Apr 1, 2009 2:03 pm
I've done as many as 12-14 (girly lite "beers") when hanging out with our alcoholic friends, but it's been a while. On an average drinking night I stay closer to 4-6.
busterb • Apr 1, 2009 10:45 pm
I take the fifth on this subject.
Aliantha • Apr 1, 2009 10:51 pm
A few years ago I'd have easily gone through the equivalent of 15 beers on an average drinking night, although some might call it a binge since I didn't do it every night...but if I did, then I'd be an alcoholic...which makes me wonder which is worse or if they're as bad as each other. Anyway, I think Aussies tend to be pretty big drinkers. Definitely drinking seems to be more widespread here. Far fewer tea totallers that's for sure.

We have lots of drive-thru liquor stores here. There's just about one in every suburb. You can't buy alcohol in the supermarket here though, or at a drugstore or service station.
Tiki • Apr 1, 2009 10:54 pm
Wow, I thought I was a heavy drinker for a while there, but I'm starting to reconsider!

Bwahahahahahahahahaha!
ZenGum • Apr 2, 2009 10:17 pm
Scientists recently found that having four beers a day greatly increases your risk of having a fifth beer.
Aliantha • Apr 3, 2009 4:17 am
Only an idiot would need a scientist to prove that theory. lol

I know of 2 drive thru liquor stores in Colorado. One is in Loveland and the other is on the Peak to Peak highway, near where we lived in the mountains (remember the chalet?)

There may be more of them, but those are the only two I know of.
jinx • Apr 3, 2009 2:46 pm
There are drive thru beer distributors in PA but I've never seen a drive thru liquor store here. First one I ever saw was in FL, and they seemed to be everywhere down there.
morethanpretty • Apr 4, 2009 10:25 am
Never seen liquor drive thrus either, just beer. We're all bible-belty and there isn't even a liquor store for 30min in any direction from where I live.
