DanaC • Mar 21, 2009 4:08 pm
Yeah, watf, but that's 'cause you're a mentalist.
Sundae • Mar 22, 2009 9:09 am
'Scuse me, but only Alan Partridge thinks a Mentalist is a person with mental impairment.

A Mentalist is someone like Mr Derren Brown.
In whose latest programme I appear.
And no, I didn't just mention it for that reason.

Oh okay, yes I did.
DanaC • Mar 22, 2009 9:16 am
*shakes head* mentalist is also deliberately incorrect (both in terms of definition and political correctness) slang term for nutter. As used by such fine comedians as Ricky Gervaise and Rob Newman.

[eta] kudos for the Brown gig. Yah.
Sundae • Mar 22, 2009 9:27 am
Okay, okay.
Also used (deliberately incorrectly) by Mark Gatiss.

I was being a word snob in case there was stupid people in Cellar-land (as if!) what didn't know.

I have the clip of me on SkyPlus - I might try to film it for the Cellar. 'Cept only the Brits will get why it's so damned special.
Trilby • Mar 22, 2009 9:30 am
I'd just like to say that I think Sundae has been on TV (OMG how COOL!) but other than that, I've really no idea what else you two are talking about.
DanaC • Mar 22, 2009 9:31 am
Get it! get it!

We actually used Darren Brown as an object lesson for my stepdaughter yesterday. She was insisting beyond all rationality that she remembered an event a certain way, even though we knew it was impossible for it to have happened that way. So we used this video to show her how the human brain can be tricked--and she was so fascinated she ended up watching a ton of others.

"embedding disabled by request"

fukkers
Clodfobble • Mar 22, 2009 2:34 pm
What? Dammit. Oh well, if you click it again it will open in a new window.
Sundae • Mar 22, 2009 3:59 pm
Tried to add another one, 'cos I couldn't get yours Jen.
Only to find it had the same story ("Embedding disabled"... blahblahblah...)

Shame.
Esp as I have paid money for two of his books, one of his DVDs AND a ticket to see him live.
But I get that his image and act is his living. Fair 'nuff. I'd offer to shag him for the rights, but the man is an ghey. Sad to say, that makes him even more fascinating for me!

Fingerers crossed that Ch4 put the money up for another series. He's a certified (well, in my mind) genius.

Video not available in my country? Wtf? He's one of ours! No fair. *pouts*

If you click on a posted youtube and it says "embedding disabled by request" you can click on it a second time and it will take you right to that youtube page and you can view the video.
