I'm at work and too lazy to follow the link, but I felt sorry for this sad little thread with no replies.

So, what is a Hybrid-American? Are they petrol/electric? Do they drink Pepsi and Coke? Demublicans and Repocrats?
Beestie • Mar 13, 2009 9:04 am
The opposite of a hybrid something is a pure something. Since America is a country and neither a bloodline nor a continent, there cannot be any such thing as a pure American.

You might think that American Indians are pure and they are. Pure North American.

When someone says they are pure, they are telling you in a nice way that you are polluted.

How are the American Indians pure if they came from Asia?
glatt • Mar 13, 2009 11:18 am
We all came from the horn of Africa.
HungLikeJesus • Mar 13, 2009 11:24 am
But what about before that?
glatt • Mar 13, 2009 11:29 am
Well, the Martians came down and had sex with our monkey ancestors, and we were born. That's also where the AIDS came from. It's a Martian virus.

I liked the earth better before all you slimy, organic things started crawling or swimming or flying all over it. Back when it was pure.

When you could take it for granite.
classicman • Mar 13, 2009 11:33 am
... or that. I'm tellin ya its the ancient aliens
sugarpop • Mar 13, 2009 7:36 pm
The only good "pure" things are water and air and food. And I suppose one could make an argument for mathematics being a "pure" science.

People are better if they're polluted, like muts. Besides, it would be reeeeally boring being "pure..."
HungLikeJesus • Mar 13, 2009 8:00 pm
Pure food? Like purified sugar? What's pure food?

Edit: I understand pure water (H2O), but I don't know what you mean by pure air, since air is a mixture of N2, O2, Argon, and a bunch of other stuff.
sugarpop • Mar 13, 2009 9:57 pm
I meant pure as in free of toxins. Same with food. It was sloppy writing. sorry. *blush*
Pie • Mar 13, 2009 10:28 pm
Define 'toxin'. Many things that are absolutely necessary for health can also kill you.
Rhianne • Mar 13, 2009 10:45 pm
I need to know if glatt was telling the truth.
sugarpop • Mar 14, 2009 12:27 am
I meant free from all the man-made pollutants we pump into the environment that are killing us and making us sick. Not stuff that is naturally there to begin with. Damn. I'm really going to have to watch my language very carefully. You guys are keeping me on my toes! :D
sugarpop • Mar 14, 2009 12:28 am
I don't think it was the Martians, I think it was the Sirians.

It's true, many of us have a tendency to roll our eyes at endless, meaningless, idealistic platitudes.

Maybe I should have just deferred to Pie's definition since that's what I was drawing on.

What fun is that? Go for the gusto.:vikingsmi
