Where is it?
Where is it?
It looks like a city by night
Africa at the bottom, Europe further to the top leftish and Asia rightish?
Africa at the bottom, Europe further to the top leftish and Asia rightish?
Looks like it to me.
no no no no no no and no.
UT's basement sink (where he spilled that battery acid a couple years back)?
Looks like China and Korea
no no no no no hint it is not on the usual NESW orientation where N is "up".
Dublin, Liverpool, London, Calais.
whuh-oh pie is in on the originals!
correct
(I cheated.)
Well, I saw that there was an island at least. Good Job Pie!
But wait! WHERE IS IT? No Cheating!

that could be anywhere
philly?
No, if it was Philly and that central suare bit was City Hall, you'd be able to see the sports complex.
I know I know! (zips lips shut)
what do you consider cheating?
Oh shoot, I found it. It sort of does look a little like Tucson, though.
Looks like a city on an island, so I guess Singapore.
Looks like a city on an island, so I guess Singapore.
hint there's a geographical reason it looks that way
If it was surrounded by desert, you would expect a lot of sprawl. But the grid pattern is too perfect for it to be surrounded by mountains. The city looks flat. So maybe it is desert.
It's awfully bright in the very center, like a Strip of some sort of bright lights.
Las Vegas?
Should be easier. Where is it?

how were we supposed to know that was Denver???
How is Denver on an island?
That's funny because I was sitting here thinking that there is no way it could be Colorado.........lol. I feelz dumb. :)
Eh, there's a reason I hate geography. I can barely find my own town.
These are not easy. I mean, if it's your hometown, or a place you have visited a lot, then you should be able to get them, but otherwise, it's just some streets and an airport.
This one has vegetation so it's not in the desert. It's got dense residential development, close to the airport, which is interesting. Almost like the airport is near downtown. No river in the shot.
I got nothing.
Hint, the pink stuff there is sand.
San Diego
San Francisco
Iran
Iraq
Myrtle Beach
Vegas?
I've never really been, but the airport seems a little small for it to be Vegas.
I'm going to keep guessing Vegas on these until I'm right.
It's Vegas.
Thanks for playing "Where is it?"
Did we complain too much? Sorry.
HA HA , I lied!
WHERE IS IT?

pretty, I like the spirals in the water.
I know.
It's the place where there was speculation a couple of years ago that the Noah's Ark story originated there.
No, if it was Philly and that central suare bit was City Hall, you'd be able to see the sports complex.
That's funny because I was sitting here thinking that there is no way it could be Colorado.........lol. I feelz dumb. :)
Yeah, I was just waiting for ... "No, wrong.. it actually IS Philadelphia!"
The Black Sea. And I didn't cheat this time.
That really is a beautiful image. I love how because of the curvature of the Earth, you have the Western half of the sea reflecting some glare from the sun, but the Eastern side isn't. I also really like the swirls in the water. It's probably pollution of some sort, but it's still pretty.
Yes, Black Sea. Wiki says:
The Black Sea underwent a catastrophic environmental collapse in the early 1990s caused by chronic nutrient pollution from farms, feed lots, and municipal sewers throughout its vast watershed. Massive algae blooms resulted in hypoxic conditions across the ecologically-critical northwest shelf, wiping out much of the flora and fauna there. Perhaps because of the attendant ecological disruptions, an alien species - Mnemiopsis leidyi -- was able to establish itself in the basin, exploding from a few individuals to an estimated biomass of one billion metric tons.[16]
Recently, scientists have noted signs of ecological recovery, in part due to the collapse of agriculture (and subsidized fertilizer usage) in much of the lower Danube basin and the construction of new sewage treatment plants in Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria in connection with membership in the European Union. Mnemiopsis leidyi populations have been checked with the arrival of another alien species which feeds on them.[17]
Next,
WHERE IS IT?

Right you, in three minutes.
I have no more items for "Where Is It?"
Damn, UT! I was just getting warmed up! :)
Anyone else?
Calif? San Andreas Fault?
iceland?
Look at the brain on Brianna!
very good.
anyone else got one?
lol...check out the big brain on Brett!
This one might be dumb, but try it anyway:
That's Shenandoah Nat'l Park and surrounding area, Virginia/West Virginia.
LOL..yep.
I suck at this game.
Either that, or I'm a complete map geek and knew the general look and feel of the Appalachians, and confirmed my guess via google maps satellite view.
...I'm a complete...geek
that's what I love about you.
glatt---I guessed Iceland because those houses are crazy colors. Those Iclanders love them some bright homesteads.
I don't know, but is that factory with the 4 smoke stacks the same factory used in Pink Floyd's Animals/Pigs on the Wing?
yes, nice find, glatt. - It is, or was, a power station.
Well, I can probably find the park by cheating, but I won't do that.
It's the Battersea power station (thanks mr. floyd) and that makes this Battersea park. Good one Scriv!
Damn! Finally one I can recognise and I was beaten to it!
As we say in my house, "Bin there! Bin there!"
Thou shalt have another chance!

High degree of difficulty!
A lake amongst rollicking vegetated short mountains, and an F-15? I have no idea but I'll try to get a hint: Scotland?
Close. - It's amazing to sit on top of a hill and look down on fighter planes - usually in pairs - going through , even seeing the pilots and tourists waving at them.
That looks like Northern Italy or Switzerland
Nope, none of these.
SG, any guesses?
I spent some time at RAF Fairford but there were no mountains around there so it must be in the North.
ok, more diffcult than I had thought. - It's the Lake District (yes, it's in the north of England). The town is Keswick and the lake is Derwent Water. The F-15 I caught next to Buttermere, a lake nearby.
So here's something easier I should hope:

The fjords, I'm pining for them...
Greenland?
yes
The fjords, I'm pining for them...
Polly is a

Nah, wait, monster is a
