Feb 16, 2009: Promachoteuthis sulcus

Promachoteuthis sulks? Whatzat?
It's a squid, a new kind of squid they found 2,000 meters down, off Tristan da Cunha in the south Atlantic, which is about as far from anywhere as you can get.

Actually they've only found one immature (guess she chewed gum and said "ya know" a lot) female, but she's so different they couldn't connect her with any of the current known squid family.

If you eat this one, watch out for the bite.;)

Jinx will love this. :haha:

I think the red wine will be nice with this dish.
So much for the adage "get 'em while they're young, 'cause when they get old they grow teeth".
Note to self: No oral encounters with this species.

That squid has teeth that would make a ortodontist proud. Look how straight they are! But they are kind of yellow. Maybe she smokes.

Looks 'shopped to me.

Bruce: you up to shenannigans?

The teeth are one of the main reasons they decided this was a new (to science) kind of squid.
